Concentra Urgent Care — Local services in Irwindale

My experience in Concentra was so traumatizing, to be honest. I came for a physical exam as a new hire because I am recovering from a right shoulder surgery. I confirmed with my employer whether I should go to Concentra even if I don’t have a surgeon’s note yet and the nurse practitioner advised me it wouldn’t matter as Concentra would have their own performance test anyway. She also insisted I go that day so that it’s done already. But even then, I was doubtful this was the case. I still went because I figured the clinic would have known whether or not they will proceed.

As soon as I inquired in the reception area, one nurse already advised that it be better I have my surgeon’s note. But the clerk proceeded to give me papers to check in, not even a minute passed by and I ask a question again “Do you think it’s ok that I don’t have a surgeon’s note yet? Because I can come back tomorrow with it.” The clerk said IT IS OK as I will be given 45 days to submit my surgeon’s note. So I believed her and filled out all the paperwork to be seen by the doctor in their clinic that day.

I waited in an empty room for almost 2 hours. I had to come out twice to follow up and all they had to say was there aren’t any doctors free as they were all in urgent care attending to patients. As a nurse, this is very frustrating but I do understand the situation. So I waited.

Finally the doctor came in. She starts questioning me and stopped when she asked where my surgeon’s note is. She said she won’t be able to do anything without it. I was so devastated at this point. Nurses weren’t accountable for anything when the doctor asked who checked me in. One nurse even said “I heard a nurse tell you it’s needed” without even knowing I asked the question again in the reception area to confirm. I WAITED FOR 2 HOURS FOR NOTHING. No one apologized. Even the nurse who took my vital signs and patient chart said they don’t read the case anymore once front desk gives them the chart. All they know is that the pt is for a physical exam. I am so upset that this is the case because it’s just a matter of communication. Someone could have confirmed with the doctor if I needed a surgeon’s note to start with and I wouldn’t have wasted my time.

So frustrated I start tearing up because I had to control my anger and not lash out at anyone so I made the nurses call a manager. She pacified the situation by getting my details and making sure I was attended to right away when I come into the clinic the next day. They didn’t offer this solution, I had to fight for it. There is slight guilt on raising my voice as an initial reaction but I’ve been working for so long as a nurse and we’re taught accountability. 09-12-24 just got hired, gone there for a simply drug and physical test , felt like I was there for annual health check up. Forget about professionalism, cause simply proper matter was not thought by parents was totally discriminated by racist front & back medical assistant. On 09/12/24 was the first out of 5 that got there at 7am, just be the last one it was not just the impression, not just body language or they she spoke but the way she had trouble in assisting me, even she was doing my physical her rude spoiled brat answer, like she didn't wanted to do my physical. Came back 09/13/24 cause was satisfied with the results. I was the first and only, the same front and back medical assistant she took her time, she sent me away claiming that the restroom wasn't after she gave a unethical and unprofessional You not going pee all the floor in my restroom, the other office that sent couldn't help and sent me back, literally have me waiting almost a hour. There a female patient that came in I knew her she only spoke Spanish, I also do speak Spanish.. not even two minutes she was called..I kept pressuring until finally was help. Not only being discriminated but hell nightmare feeling leaved going home on 09/12/24 the way the handle or did not how consult the patient...yes there a concern but didn't take the time to question symptoms or history, instead living me feeling that I got some medical issues that life and death. The doctor was the same attitude acting like they where very uncomfortable, annoyed and like they were looking you down. I personally I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy on what I gone through racial discriminated and the feelings that you got some health that you would die ,that could of be prevented by question examination and proper information...

Came to this office on Saturday 12/16/23, at the front office was this MA her name is Rosei she was extremely rude with everyone and not professional at all she will said anything to have person come back another day. She also told 2 different person they couldn’t get their work physical there because X reason, she went to break and one of the other MA don’t have her name but she was super nice and professional help this lady (one of the lady that went for a work physical but Rosei have an excuse) actually said don’t know why she said we can’t see you because we absolutely can see you thanks to that MA that lady walk with her stuff done. Also at the time it was my drug test, I asked rosei can I drink some water and she said yes there’s the water fountain and I asked her by any chance you guys have water bottle because I can’t drink that one, so she went to check and brought me 2, 8 ounces water bottles is ridiculous that she makes me get inside to bathroom and come back and tell her I can’t pee so she can put in the paper that I didn’t not provide enough specimen and that she gave water , then she proceeded to give me the water mind that she did not want to gave me the water until a went to bathroom( I asked her can I drink the water first then I go to the bathroom she said no you have to try pee then I give you the water like are you serious it didn’t make sense at all. I could just drink the water then go to bathroom. She was extremely rude, she did my tv test make me bleed and administered my vaccine so hard like really? She has so many bad reviews but it look like in here they don’t care. I have being in other Concentra locations and they are not like this. Next time go to the one...
