Axe Play — Attraction in Jackson

Axe play in downtown Jackson is awesome! Whether you are looking to do something new and exciting for team building with your coworkers or just a fun night out with a group of friends. The axe masters at Axe Play go over everything from safety and throwing basics to even counting down for you. They track of all the scoring so you don't have to and everyone can get competitive as it's displayed up on the screen in your own lane. They also offer walk-in options to work on your throw if you prefer a solo setting. They have a great selection of craft beer (now offering some great draft selections as well!) and don't miss out on their delicious craft cocktails. Definitely need to try their old fashioned, it was recently voted one of Jackson's Best! They not only thoroughly educate each and every thrower, they make sure you have a great time doing it and are always there to provide any tips along the way to help you improve your throw. Tip: Don't forget to tip your axe master at the end of your session! 😊

Decide you really love axe throwing after going there for the first time? They also offer official WATL (World axe throwing league) league nights each season (Spring Summer, Fall, & Winter). League nights are typically reserved for Wednesday and a Thursday evenings throughout the year, but there are usually breaks between each 8-week league season where they offer open timeslots to the public for lane booking. This was our first time there, we had a blast! We were assigned the VIP booth which was a bonus! The one hour time slot allowed the 4 of us to played 15 matches. Savannah was assigned to assist us in learning the proper way to throw the axe and keep our score, she did a great job. Each match consists of ten throws (5 on one lane then switch sides). Each ring is worth a different point value, this is where Savannah comes in... She adds it up for you! The scores our kept on a monitor. Axe Play is a phenomenal establishment. I can't speak for the actual axe throwing (yet), but I just attended their annual game night event and it was all entertainment, laughs, and community. A great variety and combination of trivia, puzzles, blind taste test, dart throwing, and everything in-between. We even got some exercise out of it somehow. You can tell the owners just love what they do and it is reflected in the experience.
