I am very afraid and picky with my hair. I've had nothing but bad experiences with stylists but after years i decided i wanted something different. So I called and set up an appointment with Tricia for a balayage. I got there and I was so incredibly nervous, I'm a rookie when it comes to hair. I have jet black hair and I never color it... So I was anxious lol Customer service: Tricia has the ability to make people open up. I'm usually very quiet and don't really talk but she eased me into having intelligent conversations. It was refreshing. She also kept asking me if I wanted a drink and made sure I was comfortable. I'm kind of tall so when I went to get my hair shampooed, my neck was bothering me... without saying anything she could see it and placed a towel to take away the strain I put on it. So tall women, yes you know the struggle 🤣 Technique: Poor Tricia, I came in with pics of things I kind of wanted and I was terrible in trying to explain what I want. She was very positive and patient, so she asked me questions about things I liked and what I'm willing to do. It took 2 sessions to lighten up hair and then color it/put some dimensions. She also cut my hair and styled it. And I ended up leaving so happy and relieved that my hair looked so nice and like what I envisioned. PS: dont skip out of the shampooing... she kind of massages your head and it's like 🧖🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️ I am very grateful to have found this place and for Tricia 🥰. Frankly for the quality of service you get the price is more than decent. I'm definitely recommending this salon to anyone. Before and after pic from today 03/16/19

I've been coming to Tomeka for 5 years now and refuse to go anywhere else, despite not living in Jacksonville. I currently live in California and come back to Florida about every 6 months for a refresh. I find her prices to be fair and the experience to be enjoyable, which is why I keep coming back. I have referred my friends of all hair textures (white, black, and asian)to give her a visit, and I have not yet gotten poor feedback. Tomeka is highly experienced in her craft and it shows in her work, specially when it comes to color. She has also taken the time to educate me on how to care for my colored treated hair, so I can maintain my results until I can make my way back to Jacksonville.

I can’t speak highly enough of this salon. Blueleaf is the definition of perfection when it comes to haircutting, coloring, braiding and extension. I’ve been getting compliments all day today on my social media for the sleek hair look and hair cut. I have VERY thick hair and it’s very hard to manage, Tomeka was able to sleek my hair down. Her process was also very delicate. I have curly hair and she was gentle in blow drying and styling. Tomeka is an absolute professional and takes care of you 100%.. I highly recommend!

Tia did a blowout on my daughters hair with a trim. The blowout was $85. When my daughter went to checkout something happened with the register and charged my daughter $125. Tia asked for help from the shop owner to help fix the price. The owner then replied: “well she already put her card in so”…... My daughter then calls me to say mom something is not right! So I called up the shop owner and ask her about the incident. She tells me pricing is on her website. So I checked the website and asked her why was my daughter was charged $50 for a “trim” and a “haircut” is $45 on the website. She replied: “my prices haven’t been updated on the website yet. If you want me to, I can refund your daughter the $5 for a haircut. A “trim” and “haircut” are the same price because once we pick up the scissors/shears the prices are the same for both. So I replied: “A trim and haircut are the exact same price?” She replied: “ yes I just haven’t updated the website yet.” I do not agree with how my daughter was treated at all. Also, the owner had a very nasty attitude about the entire conversation and services provided. I do not recommend this shop to anyone especially young ladies that are paying and are too shy to speak up for themselves. She is very unprofessional and even though Tia is a good beautician she and her manager both overcharged my daughter. If I could give 0 stars I would. How gross to get ahead on over charging a young...

GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!

First, I would like to thank all of the previous honest reviews....due to this I have found a awesome new Stylist Lafarrah Shaw. She was quick to response, very informative and polite. My first impression of the shop as a whole was good, I was greeted with smiles and a warm welcome as soon as I hit the door. As I was waiting for my initial consultation(unscheduled) one of the other stylist spoken with me to just get started. Everyone in the shop is friendly and nice. The salon was clean, well lit and spacious.

Lafarrah has followed up with me and been very upfront and honest about what she can and can not do. She spoke with me several times to ensure I was comfortable about my hair and what I wanted to do.

I was with my last Stylist for 12 years so it's very important to me that I'm with someone who is honest with me and who loves what they do, I feel Lafarrah is passionate about doing hair and loves her craft. I have already referred my mother in law because I know she will be in good hands and be well taken care of. I do not think anyone would go wrong with choosing any stylist or barber from this...
