This visit to The Juicy Crab made me want to get out of Jacksonville altogether 🤢😵😫 There's no way any of their seafood is fresh or they would be killing half the restaurant nightly in the environment. That stuff is all frozen, all day. Crab boils with frozen crab and frozen lobster tails man get the solid 🤬 outta here. I know some restaurants use frozen seafood but not for a whole boil man c'mon. Why all the cages everywhere?? I don't need to be thinking about a jail or a psych ward while I've got crab legs and lobster coming that is confusing besides it being depressing. Plus it's so dark and drab in there, even more depressing. Servers are clearly inexperienced and untrained. Drinks were outdated, garnished like 1984, and tasted terrible. We sent ours back. Free those Koi fish too they need more than one foot of water in their disgusting and grimy environment. That's animal cruelty plus they looked like they were starving. Why the Koi anyway? That makes no sense. We had to look at this giant disgusting, grimy, calcified boat full of reduced water and starving Koi while we ate. Plus it was vandalized with marker all over it. It smelled like what it is, full of pond fish. Needless to say we got a box and bailed. Free the Koi they don't belong there and you are not taking care of them! Btw women like to twerk by the Koi boat for some reason not sure why. Maybe because they were blaring trap rap club-loud for about 40 minutes. I mean she said "put your hands on your knees" in the song, I guess they understood the assignment.. next to a family with an infant that was obviously there for the first time by the look of shock and discomfort on their faces from the whole experience. Is this a seafood restaurant? Can't be. Please say it isn't so. I recommend you do not bring infants or children here for multiple reasons. Never again. Worst restaurant experience in my past 10 years. Do not bring a date here. If I had taken my wife here on our first date I wouldn't be married to her today, facts. Our bill was $109 by the way, two people, only water to drink. Oh the water is terrible too, maybe dirty taps or bad pipes... That nasty Koi boat has running water and a drain..
P.S. thanks for ruining my Mother's Day dinner. Should have known when I saw jello shots advertised in marker on wilted paper and you had no drink menu with a bar inside that...
Read moreI ordered a shrimp basket with onion rings. The rest of my table order seafood bags. I guess they waited until everything was done to bring it all out. My food was cold, I ate two pieces of shrimp and two onion rings. I wasn’t going to say anything at first but I told the waitress that my food was cold. She grabbed for the basket and said, “we can warm it up for you”. I told her that if they were going to warm it up, then I don’t want them taking it back because who wants microwaved fried shrimp and onion rings? I explained to her that I wanted it cooked fresh. I didn’t care if they wanted to deduct the two shrimp I had already eaten, I just wanted fresh, hot food. She assured me that they would make it fresh. She brings the food back out and like I thought, they refried the shrimp. The shrimp was dripping with grease. They put shrimp, that I had touched and picked over, back into grease that they are cooking everyone’s food in. That’s very unsanitary. After I tell the waitress that I didn’t want it, the manager comes out with a nasty attitude to show me a picture to prove to me that he had thrown my food away and gave me fresh food. The picture only showed the onion rings. It also showed how disgusting that kitchen looks back there. But none the less, they didn’t throw the shrimp in the trash. They refried it. I told the manager again that I didn’t want it the food and to take it off of my tab. He tried to argue with me while continuing to shove that disgusting picture in my face. I continued to calmly tell this man that I didn’t want the food. He finally snatched it off the table and says “you’re just being a …” but mumbled the last part of his statement. I’m pretty sure everyone knows what he said but I let it slide. I know I will never step foot in their again.
I would not recommend anyone (especially black people) to eat at this establishment. They do not like us and it shows through their service and the way they treat us.
They need a visit from the...
