Phaded Barber Shop — Local services in Jacksonville

I have cancer and I’m currently doing chemo ☣️. I lost a lot of my beautiful long curly hair because of it. I ended up shaving my head 👨‍🦲. Talk about a kick to the gut when you’re already down. The chemo has done a number on body and appearance. I haven’t felt ‘pretty’ in quite some time.

I’m not into wigs or dying my hair a funky color. That’s just not really my thing. So, I decided to get a design shaved into my hair. I did some research on barber shops💈who do designs. I decided on a shop, and I went. I showed him the design I wanted. I knew it would be difficult. I told him he could simplify it if he needed to. He tried, I guess. I wish he would’ve been honest and told me he couldn’t do it instead of just ‘giving it a go.’ I wore a lot of beanie hats hat after that.

After a few months, I decided to try the hair design thing again but with a different barber shop. I went to💈Phaded Barber Shop💈and showed them the design. They all said “Luis would be your best bet.” 😕 I really didn’t want to end up with something I wasn’t happy with yet again, but I put my faith 🙏 in Luis anyway. I am so glad I did! ❤️

It’s as close as you can get to the design. I was shocked and even gasped. Then I did something I rarely do and that’s cry. I cried my little eyes out 😭 because it was so beautiful and exactly what I wanted. And best of all, for the first time in a long time, I FELT PRETTY! 😢

Woman that braided my beard had foot surgery(her foot in a boot) never once faced me straight on. How can you cut and braided someone's beard and hair without doing this once! I also showed a picture of how wanted my beard braided( big braids with som of the beard behind them still). They were also not lined up or centered.She proceded to give me very tight and small braids. I even asked her to make them bigger after that. She also left hairs long after being asked to cut them, as well as giving me a fade which I didn't asked for. I told her just a guard all the way around not a fade. I was fed up by that point paid and left, good thing it was 25 bucks. I guess you get what you pay for. I will gladly go to more expensive salon and pay more for "professional" work. I felt ripped off and the butt of a joke. Immediately took braids out 5 mins after leaving. Horrible experience. Will not be going back. This is the second time I’ve booked services for my father & husband with Phaded Barber Shop and the service and cuts were exceptional from Adrian & Jonathan on the first visit. HOWEVER, today’s visit was different.

Due to schedule availability, we booked with Kevin & Jonathan. I prepaid for both services. Jonathan did another excellent cut and service, which were bald fade, eyebrows and hot towel. Kevin was first off late to the appointment, so he cut my husband so my father wasn’t waiting. My husband’s service was a regular men’s fade and beard trim. He slapped my husbands head around when cutting and cut way too much off the top. He was argumentative once we let him know we weren’t satisfied and was non-apologetic about it. We asked for our money back and he pretty much gave every excuse not to give it back. Stating “who was gonna pay for his time and clean up”.

We left. Next time we will definitely NOT book any...
