Maurices — Local services in Janesville

5 Stars and beyond. I have quite a unique situation, but want to bring attention to the staff working on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 - as they were exceptional. I was selling a wedding dress that I hadn't worn through Janesville FB Marketplace and found a potential buyer who, of course, requested to try it on before deciding to buy. I have a shedding, black dog at home, so I was hesitant to invite the buyer to my home to try on a clean and beautiful white dress. We thought, "why don't we call kohls, target or Maurice's in town to see if they'd be willing to let us come and use a dressing room." So happy we called Maurice's first - Staff there told us to "come on by!". Not only did the staff working allow the Bride-to-be to use a fitting room for as long as she needed...they couldn't contain their excitement for the bride, greeted her and even had a fitting room RESERVED for her when we arrived! They truly treated her the way I was treated at Vera's in Madison when shopping for my dress. The way a Bride SHOULD feel when shopping for their special day. Janesville Maurice's staff rolled out the red carpet for this bride WHILE attending to other customers, smiling, checking them out and ensuring the shop was tip top. Several, if not all the girls working brought shoes, accessories, jackets, cardigans, bras from the floor for the bride to try on - of course she found some extra items that paired perfectly. And I certainly enjoyed the shopping I did while I was there. It was such a safe space. The whole time I was there, I kept thinking I need to get home and review this location so that Maurice's Management knows about their stellar employees. They were kind, fun, helpful, supportive, knowledgeable, & patient. I think Janesville Maurice's gained SEVERAL new & loyal customers on this day. I encourage anyone who needs a hand, or a fresh opinion while shopping for your next event, or just shopping in general! This totally made my week and I wasn't even the guest of honor, I was basically a fly on the wall - but it was so fun. I hope the right people see this & apologies for the novel, couldn't...

My tween likes the clothes but doesn't like to shop in your store because the staff are attentive to the point it's intrusive. She's shy. She doesn't want that much attention in her and the clothing she's choosing. She especially will not try anything on in the store.

I convinced her to go to the store recently because I'm tired of shopping online and returning everything that doesn't fit. Three people greeted us within 5 minutes of entering and asked us what we were shopping for. When one circled back a few minutes later, I told her as politely as I could that we'd been greeted, were browsing, and would come to her if we had questions. She shot me a look of irritation or maybe suspicion and then followed us closely around the store straightening hangers, which made my daughter too uncomfortable to even whisper to me about the clothing she might like and made me annoyed because she was acting like we were shoplifting or something. So, we bought one sweater and left. Essentially, your overly friendly staff chased us out the door because they wouldn't let a shy tween shop in peace with her mother.

We went from here to AE. They greeted us there too and then left us alone until we asked for assistance. We spent $300. Maybe take a lesson from AE? Idk, but you lost a young up and coming customer. I won't drag her into your...

My Mother visited this location recently. She has difficulty with her breathing at times, and wanted to do some shopping for some tops. She was quite winded by the time she entered the store. The lovely sales associate assisted her with a chair and even offered to pick some stuff out for her. Because of this staff member’s kindness and patience, she was able to purchase some cute tops and a pair of pants. My Mom is so touched by this kindness, and I just wanted it to be known.
