I donāt even know where to start. As a new homeowner I got a quote done to get luxury vinyl flooring installed. The only part that has gone smoothly so far was getting the measurements done. Communication has been extremely poor. I received phone calls daily after the quote to get the ball rolling, yet none of my information on file was ever correct when we reviewed it (product choice, rooms being done, etc). Iāve had to specify the correct information several times. I was strongly encouraged to apply for the Home Depot consumer credit card to receive $100 off my purchase even though I had the means to pay for it without it. Again, they encouraged this for simplicity when it would come time for payment. Not only did I spend over 2 hours in person trying to pay for my flooring, but I didnāt even get the $100 off because no one in the customer service department seemed to have a clue. I was also not informed that even just being an authorized user on the consumer credit card (card was in my partners name) would result in a hard inquiry on my credit score. I was at an 800 credit score and just lost 32 points for a Credit limit of a measly $1000. Home Depot you can keep your pocket change! They also make you pay for the full cost of the installation up front which is highly unusual. I was OK with this when they told me I would have an install date of approximately 6 weeks (putting us at the beginning on January). After payment was given I was told it would get done until April!! Steer clear of this place! Itās been a nightmare and I havenāt even gotten the flooring done yet. Dreading to see what horrors that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't review often but this transaction seemed review-worthy. Nothing against this specific store in particular, it just happens to be the one local to me and where I placed my order. I ordered an item that was unavailable in store at the service desk and received it pretty quickly! My cashier was nice and helpful, full props to her!
I bought a gazebo. I received the product today and unfortunately, the quality wasn't there and despite overall positive reviews, the product did not warrant the $1,839.99 price tag. So I began to look around and found the same exact item with free shipping (Home Depot charged me $55) for nearly $600 less. Home Depot charged me $2,013.43 (with tax and shipping), but the exact same item is available on Wayfair for $1,441.21(with tax and shipping). Home Depot offers a 30 day price protection program, where if you find the item cheaper, they will credit the difference. After speaking with two different customer service reps with two different stories about why they could not extend that offer to me, I am forced to return the item and rebuy from Wayfair.
Shop around folks, I am only out the $55 for shipping at the end of the day after the return, but know that Home Depot will not honor their price protection guarantee (for 30 days after purchase is what is advertised and again, received the item today) and that if you do shop here, you just might get thrown over a barrel, much like my experience! $600 difference on a $2,000 item, check the competition...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlright, so I decided to go shopping here on Black Friday. I did my research and I was hoping for deals, which I found and was elated, but that's not the best part. I showed up kind of in a hurry, by myself, in a VW Jetta Wagon. It never occurred to me that trying to fit two toilets and two vanities in my vehicle would pose a challenge...these things just usually work out...right? Ha! Boy was I wrong. Luckily for me, I happened upon two savvy employees, Haileigh and Laura. Not only did they help me locate two push carts, they helped me lift the toilets and vanities (in hindsight I'm not sure why I attempted this trip alone), they proceeded to direct me to the self checkout that took cash while avoiding the kerfuffle in the front of the store. THEN they helped me to my car, where we took about 20 minutes playing tetris with VW, Kohler, and Glacier Bay. Now, (no offense male employees, but) if I had had a male employee assist me, I can almost guarantee they wouldn't have stuck around this long. I would've been told to return for my merchandise later or rent a truck--neither of which I had the time or money for. The three of us strong, independent, creatively-thinking ladies, nimbly (and successfully) man-handled the new bathroom fixtures into the vehicle. It was a surprisingly fun process thanks to Haileigh and Laura. I look forward to shopping here again (don't...
