I'm a senior fighting to stay up with changing technology. I returned four security cameras from Amazon, due to faulty cameras, or poor to non assistance with clear English speaking customer support, even though the last two Amazon's CSR's confirmed they had tech savvy support.
So I came to Best Buy, disregarding my son's advice, to look for security cameras only.
I walked out with Amazon Blink security cameras, which I did not notice it was Amazon, until I open the package! Then suggesting I call Amazon for support. Along with trading in an eight month-old $1,000 HP labtop for $200 including technical support, and my Galaxy 22 cell phone (T; $400) for a Lenovo Yoga, 6 laptop.
I thoroughly questioned Anna about Geek support, needing English speaking knowledgeable techs. She confirmed they were from the United States. Wrong. Maybe that's what they tell her. I don't know.
So I got home and immediately had tech issues with my laptop. I spent a total of two plus hours on the phone with Geek squad, from the Philippines or India, or both, I don't remember. First one hung up after 15 minutes cuz it kept asking them to please speak more clearly and slowly, as I have Dyslexia and other LD's, and I was having a hard time understanding him. I was being patient about it. Second one ended briefly, idr. Third one, we spent over an hour and a half, and he still did not fix the problem. Adding 10 - 20 minutes each phone call, to reach a real person.
My neighbor's son came over and fixed the problem in TEN MINUTES! I went to Best Buy and asked to speak to a supervisor.
He acted non-interested, taking deep breaths as though bored. So I asked him if he wanted to hear my experience with Geek squad, knowing, by then, I was getting NO WHERE. He said yes, so I played along with him.
He said there was nothing they could do about it, except get some of my money back that I paid for, for this wonderful experience...
   Read moreI really hate this Best Buy. I like what they have to offer but I hate their systems and some of their staff. The last 3 times that we've gone there, there has been an issue during check out. First with the Best Buy Rewards Card, second time with their Gamers Club, then with both this last time. The cashier kept signing us up for the Best Buy Rewards card and it kept not working and just overall being messed up in the system. The Gamers Club is suppose to be attached to the rewards card and it kept saying it wasn't at check out even though we just got our bonus for trading in games 10 minutes prior to checking out. They even looked up by phone number 3 times and it kept not working for the first cashier guy. He called someone else over who tried and magically it worked after he tried twice despite the fact the guy tried the same exact thing. Checking out should be quick for one item and yet it always takes 15 minutes or more to check us out. That doesn't even count the time we spend waiting for staff to notice that someone needs to check us out to begin with. There is one lady there that has checked us out multiple times and she is just awful every time. She's super slow and never can do anything on her own. She ALWAYS has to call someone over. We've seen her need to call someone else over with other customers on multiple occasions and she's done it every time with us. For registering a laptop, Gamers Club, Best Buy Rewards, Visa being charged but not providing a receipt (This was the one time I could understand her need for help) and more. It seems the staff can't do what I expect is a constant daily task. The only issue I experienced at a different best buy is that their stock online was wrong. (It said it was in stock when it wasn't so I wasted my time driving out there.) This particular Best Buy seems hopeless and overall, Best Buy needs to improve their systems for online...
   Read moreI just wanted to share my experience yesterday at your store. I was BLOWN away by the amazing customer service experience I received! I came in with questions and concerns about my daughter's phone and first Kendal at customer service was quick to try to do anything she could to help me. She enlisted the help of the Geek Squad who consisted of Tainy and Sam. It is few and far between lately to receive the level of customer service I did yesterday with these three girls. They not only helped with my issues but they made me smile and completely turned my day around. I left with a huge smile on my face and peace of mind about my phone issues being resolved and my daughter being safe and available by phone for her homecoming weekend.. I have told everyone I have come across in the last day about how fantastic your store was and what a HUGE help all three girls were to me. You have gained a customer for life and I will be recommending to all my friends and family to visit your Geek Squad with any electronic issues. You have a special group working for you over there and I greatly appreciate it. I had been to two other stores trying to get answers and help and there wasn't even an effort put forth by either one, You should be proud of the employees you have working for you, as business owner I understand how a hardworking, friendly and knowledgeable employee can be hard to find.
