If I could give them negative stars, I would. I am absolutely disgusted with their quality of work.
Let me give you a little back story: after my grandma passed, she left her engagement and wedding rings to me, and my mom has held onto them. My grandma wore those rings for 70 years. What those rings represent and the memories attached to them mean more than anything to me.
My mom asked around about a good jewelry store to have my rings sized since my boyfriend was planning on proposing to me, and that's how she wound up at Zales. Fast forward to about two weeks after he proposed. I'm noticing that one of the diamonds looks like it's slanting some, so I decide to not wear it until after I take it to the jewelers. We happened to be in Hudson, FL at the time because we had to evacuate for the hurricane. I wear the ring to Zales and upon taking it off in the store I see that a diamond had fallen out. I was heart broken. They are all keepsake diamonds, and the woman assures me that they will do their best to not only fix the prongs that hold the other diamonds in place, but that they will also do the best they can to replace the diamond with another one close to the same price and quality as the missing diamond. At this point I am furious because my grandma could wear this ring for 70 years with no issues, and I have it for less than a month and my ring is suddenly falling apart. I had them look at the wedding band to make sure the prongs were okay, and the lady assured me it was fine so I took that one back home with me. Two weeks later my ring is back and my mom went to pick it up. She came to SC and brought the ring. I am beyond furious. The diamonds are all slanted, and they resized my ring again (why?!) And the band is so thin it looks like it could snap if pressure was applied!! And this is NOT a cheap ring! I also wore the wedding band on our drive back to SC, and noticed that the prongs were catching on fabric and two of those diamonds are slanted now. So, I've been engaged since September 3rd, and have only been able to wear my ring for a week. The quality of work is garbage, and I plan on going to a Zales here in SC to see if their coverage on my rings will include them sending it to a jeweler of my choice to fix their repeated mess ups. Also, I found it very sketchy that when I first realized a diamond had fallen out, I called my fiancé and asked him and my dad to look around the house to possibly find it. He he had found it..it was the same size and shape as my other diamonds...but when she tested it, it was a sapphire. What's sketchy is that neither myself nor my mother own any jewelry with sapphires in it, yet they happen to find one the same size as what would go in my ring?
Anyways, if you cherish your jewelry and want a good job done, do not...
Read moreHands down the absolute worst customer service at store #300. All staff are completely incompetent to do their job. I put a $3699 ring on layaway that was on clearance. It was 30% off, they also gave me $150.00 as a web match. I came in the next month to find out they offered an additional 20% off all clearance items. I came back the next day to take advantage of the awesome deal. The employee working that day didn't have a clue what she was doing. I spent over a hour at the store while she called the assistant manager (Helen) on the phone to try and figure how to process a layaway, something that all staff she be TRAINED to do! The employee ended up voiding out my layaway and couldn't process my order after me waiting there for over an hour waiting. I left, and had to make another 35 minute drive up there the next day only to find out that the assistant manager, Helen couldn't honor my layaway discounts. I explained to her what had occurred the previous day. She had an attitude, didn't even offer an apology and simply said, there is nothing I can do. This is after she assured me the previously that she would honor the discounted price. I demanded my money back from the layaway and told her, she lost a customer for life. I will never recommend or go to another Zales. I will also make sure to tell as many people as i can about my horrible experience at your company. Totally unprofessional. This store needs to be shut down for lack of training, and customer service. I've called corporate twice now, and the District Manager still hasn't...
Read moreI bought a beautiful ring enhancer for my 30th anniversary. I did not realize Zales doesn't have a jeweler. I had my engagement ring made custom to fit the enhancer elsewhere. This was 3/21. While Zales offers a lifetime warranty on the diamonds,as long as you have them checked regulary, I purchase one on the gold and labor as well. 3 years in, I began loosing stones, sometimes right after havng them checked. They send it out for free... But I would loose more stones a day or two later. Frustrated, the manager was no help and even made it seem OK since the ring was "almost 5 years old" (in 2024) they would replace the ring, but I would have to purchase a new warranty at now $600. So much for "lifetime"I plead my case to the assistant manager April, who offered suggestions of more complete checks of my stones, marking loose stones as well as the missing ones, and checking it again more thoroughly when they finished. So far so good!! I am grateful for the solution and April is wonderful...make sure if you take the time to go in every 6 months, that they are actually thoroughly...
