We have a variety of restaurants nearby, but Bob Evans is our family's clear favorite.
Start with their prices. We can have an awesome lunch or dinner for two for under $20, including drinks. A similar meal across the street will run almost double that, while Olive Garden will run 4x that. Even McDonalds can turn out more expensive!
Though one of my major complaints also relates to pricing. I learned very early that you can order the same meal 3-5 different ways, and so once I figure out what I want I need to spend 10 minutes searching the menu and doing math to figure out the cheapest way to order it (it can be as much as 50% more if ordered the most expensive way). And if you want to make a decision based partially on pricing, forget about it!
As for customer service, we've generally had very good experiences. The wait staff are generally very friendly. They smile and greet you pleasantly and personably. They help you figure out how to get exactly what you want even if it's not on the menu. This is a nice change from the "treating you like a number" feel you get from many other businesses; even many restaurants nowadays.
The food is obviously the most important part, and they excel here as well. I almost never have a bad meal. I love their breakfasts and really appreciate them having them available all day long. And don't you dare order a meal without getting their twisty cheese sticks; they are the best I've ever had by a long-shot.
I have the occasional complaint, but not nearly as many as I do everywhere else I've eaten. And I'm very tempted to ding them a star for the complications in finding the best way to order your food. But between the price, the service, and the yum factor, they are truly a 5-star experience compared to everything...
Read moreI do have to say that the blueberry pancakes are fantastic when they make them correctly and they have the best omelettes when they are made Correctly as well, unfortunately they have been very inconsistent lately and it’s a shame because there breakfast Menu is absolutely fantastic! The Coffee is definitely not worth it anymore it’s expensive and tastes terrible, depending on the server you get it’s a 50/50 on that as well. If they are on there game they make the best Breakfast! If they are inconsistent like they have been then well!!! No! Many years ago they had a Bob Evans in Tarpon that Closed, they had a Bob Evans In Countryside that Closed, they had a Bob Evens near Clearwater Airport that Closed, they had a Bob Evans on Dale Mabry that Closed. Making good food and be Consistent at it is the Key!! Making bad food and Charging more money is not the Answer at all. Look at all those locations that closed down over the years! I like Bob Evans a lot they are just Inconsistent and very expensive for breakfast anymore! I spent $23 dollars on Breakfast for myself with a tip. Here are the pictures of my food. The pancakes were flat and the hash-browns only had a couple ounces, I asked the server if they ran out of Hash...
Read moreI went in for dinner with my mom and step dad and at first we waited a few minutes to be seated and once someone came to us, she had to find a table that wasn’t dirty because most were and had to have someone clean one off for us.. we sit down and order our food and it takes a while, we finally get it and my step dad instantly says his cod was terrible and hit it a couple times with his fork to show us how hard and over cooked it was, he ended up getting a pot pie to go, which then a waitress dropped and we had to wait for a new all over. while we were waiting my mom and i continued to eat until i realized my chicken tenders were a little under cooked. so i stopped eating the one and cut into the next one to find literal blood... yes blood! coming out of it and i instantly got so grossed out and wanted to puke and leave. i stopped eating and it almost made my mom stop too because she hates undercooked anything. we were very grossed out.. we just wanted to lead so we paid and waited for the pot pie and got out. it was so gross.. i hadn’t been there for quite a few years but i definitely remember it being way better than tonight.. i will not be...
