This has always been my favorite spot ( besides there high increase price on the food) until today. I called this place 20 minutes ahead to make sure they have red chicken and they said yes, i also asked for cheese with Rajas and they said it will be ready by 12:20pm. I just want to be make sure they would have the items that i want for my order. i went to the restaurant and they only had pork red and pork green, yuk, i had to wait till 12:30 for the chichen red, I decided to leave, im not going to spend $16.00 on food that i dislike. my kids really wanted Tamales, so we decided to wait till 12:20pm. but i decided to pre-order my tamales by the phone to make sure that i would get my 8 red chicken tames and 2 cheese with Rajas, i have placed order on the phone in the past and it has been very pleasant, today the lady that answer the phone said that i couldn't place an order on the phone, that i needed to be in the store to place the order, i informed her that i was inside and i had left because i was not going to wait 30 minutes for the food, but we changed our minds and that i was parked outside the store and if she could just take my order, the lady on the phone denied in taking my order and said " we have a 10 dozen order for the chicken red and we cannot take your order you need to come inside the store. i went inside the store to place my order and the lady said that i cannot place my order because the red chichen were not ready, i informed her that i had called 10 seconds ago and a lady said that i needed to come inside the store to place my order and now they are telling me that i needed to come back at 12:20 to place my order. i was very upset, very poor communication and very bad service. they finally decided to take my order , i paid full price and waited to get my order. They didn't apologize and i don't feel appreciated. i will no longer go to...
Read moreAmazing local spot! Have been coming here for a couple of years now, was introduced through my grandma a long time back! They’re always busy due to high demand especially on weekends so be prepared for a wait, definitely worth it! They’re cash only so not really a problem there’s a chase bank down the street, and the grocery store across the street has an ATM. If they do run out of tamales it’s because they’re in high demand so be prepared to come at a reasonable time to get what you came in mind for and chances are they have more coming out doesn’t hurt to ask. The staff is always on the go and under pressure (high demand) but always super nice and ready to answer questions. They’re freshly squeezed orange juice is the bomb and they’re tamales are all the greatest! I recommend this place...
Read moreTamales are always amazing, been coming here since my young days, 2007. Service has always been good, attentive, and honest. My issue is that every few months they change their prices it used to be reasonable but now its getting past that. $17 for a dozen, hot drinks= $3.50 for a small; $4.00 for a large that is considered 16oz, which was a medium back in the day; $6.00 for a "extra large" which is 32oz. I'm all for supporting small businesses but the constant price change is getting out of hand. Now you can take your chances on the streets but to find a good tamale maker is always a hit or miss. The recent herd of gentrification could be the cause of the need to...
