Grayland Station — Local services in Jefferson Township

Grayland Station is a great place for trains & planes . Steve has a great assortment of N , Z and HO scale trains at good prices ! An on occasions he gets in some O & G scale . He has a tremendous amount of books and paper collectables ( time tables and other paper goods ) . Steve also has large amount of airplane models and memorabilia , he runs the Chicagoarea air memorabilia show once a year . He is right by the Edgebrook Metra Station and the Devon bus (CTA ) stops near by . There is also a parking around the corner for the shop . It's a crowded shop but you'll find some good buys with all the stuff he has , the shop is open Wednesday thru Saturday . Was just in there this last week and seen that the model airplane stuff is starting to take over , Steve has a tremendous amount of scale replica airplanes in every airline livery also found out that the Z scale (trains) is dwindling because of the lack of want . Otherwise he has alot more of everything else and is up to date on what's out . So when you walk in you really cant see what's there until you take a few steps in and then you look around and dont know...

Took my three year old in to see what they carry in the way of aircraft. He was on overload. The owner is very hospitable. The models they carry are reasonably priced. My son was absolutely set on getting FedEx, UPS and Southwest aircraft. The selection is extensive and you have to dig to find what you want. It's almost guaranteed that he has what you are looking for. He attempted to steer us towards appropriate toys for my sons age which would have resulted in decreased sales for himself. While we were not there for trains, the selection for trains was equally impressive and extensive. Do not be swayed by the lack of website listings, there are hundreds of not thousands of items to look at. He had Gemini 200 and 400 scale aircraft for sure. Hogan on the plastic side. The prices I saw compared to Internet pricing is lower than Internet average. This is all from a walk in experience. Next time we are in the area we'll head back for a couple more airliners. Highly recommended if you have at least a half hour to find...

Has a lot in stock, great selection of new and used HO model trains. New N scale trains. A lot of books about various railroads, some old photos, and all the train magazines you need. The owner, Steve, is very knowledgeable, nice, and can help you with anything. If he doesn't have a thing you need, he will order it for you. You can find a lot of model planes ranging from any scale. I do not think you should bring young kids here, since it is a small store and not a lot of space to walk around. Overall, if you are into model plains or model trains, I would definitely recommend this store to you.
