If I could give zero stars, I would. My elderly mother just moved into the neighborhood this week, and we were excited to explore local spots she could walk to regularly. We came across this charming-looking coffee shop and decided to stop in for breakfast. It seemed like the perfect place—until we experienced the service.
We sat at the bar area, and a man who appeared to be a staff member came over to place our silverware and placemats. My mother politely said, “Good morning, can we start with coffee?” To our shock, he completely lost his temper. He loudly snapped, “How about you freaking wait and be civilized. You need to do things in the order I say,” before slamming the silverware down and walking away.
I was furious, and my mother was left embarrassed and visibly shaken. She was almost in tears. Thankfully, another staff member came over and was very kind, but the man from earlier stayed in the back and stared at us the entire time, making the rest of our visit extremely uncomfortable.
The food was mediocre at best, but the service—particularly that initial interaction—was unacceptable and upsetting. I’ll be sharing this experience with others, as I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially those looking for a friendly...
Read moreThis coffee shop and diner rocks! You might not be able to get a seat because it can get very busy, but there are 12 seats at the diner and 3 small tables for 2. It is definitely a family type fuel here with a classic vibe. You can find oldies playing on the two TVs, with classic songs playing in the background. It was like a time machine back into 1980. Many regulars come in and are known by name. Multiple people working there will come and talk to you as well.
Today I tried a bacon date and goat cheese omelette which came with a side of pancakes and hash browns, all for $14. The Omelette was different, with a combination of savory, sweet, and creamy! I highly recommend the spice rub that is on the side, which is very tasty and not too spicy. It is definitely worth coming back here, just might have to wait or come at a later hour. Customer Parking is available alongside the restaurant and on street, but beware that the parking lot sign does not indicate that Edgebrook Coffee Shop customers are listed on there. I recommend the business to make parking recommendations to ease the burden on the customers, but I had no problem parking...
Read moreOnly reason it's not 5 stars is because I didn't see a restroom. Sorry but that's a big deal especially for a diner and if your hungover at said diner. My spidy senses tell me the owner was a chef somewhere else, big time and he just needed a break which is awesome for us. His food is fantastic. The sausage patties (hand made) are my personal favorites. And keep me coming in. The coffee selection is also surprisingly good but they need to train all the servers on how to make everything on the menu. I had that problem with a mocha the one day. Staff and head cook/owner are very nice. All in all I've yet to have a problem with the food. As every restaurant should be, they are consistent. Also to the customers!!! YOU SHOULD BE AT A TABLE IF YOUR THERE WITH YOUR 5 YEAR OLD...
