WHAT A PLACE! Don’t be deterred by the small footprint of this store, the selection is highly curated and I don’t think it’s possible to buy a bad book here.

I loved interacting (and gushing obviously) about books with one of the owners and am sad I live too far to visit often!

Loved the fact that they support several other small Chicago businesses too. If you’re coming to get a book for a reading friend (or yourself) you’ll be able to pick from a great selection of books + little gifts.

New Book Joy is a corner of heaven in Chicago!

I myself am a librarian and have been on the hunt for a read-a-like for my favorite book (The Historian). At New Book Joy, Mandy poured me a glass of wine, sat with me next to the store's upstairs fireplace, and gave me the best suggestion I've gotten in years of Googling. The book talk then continued and I never wanted to leave!
