Hands down, one of the best taco spots on the North / Northwest side of Chicago. My brother showed me this spot as I literally have driven past here thousands of times and hadn't ever noticed it till then.
We went in during covid, so they didn't have the indoor eating area available yet. But I can assure you, upon entering the first thing you notice is how clean, well lit, and nice it smells. The tile floor is extremely clean and has always looked freshly mopped, with no debris or litter on the ground. The walls are clean as well, with no buildup of grease nor stains, and the seats are well maintained with no visible stress or tear.
The staff are very helping, letting you know what their recommendations are, as well as the different ways you can have your meal cooked if there is more than one. (The Tripas, for instance, are offered crispy, soft, or in-between; rather than getting it whichever way they feel like serving it)
The food is priced very fairly, and comes in a bang for your buck portion. There isn't an overabundance of toppings on your tacos with a low amount of meat; nay nay. The meat comes to the edges of the corn tortillas, which are standard sized and not hipster empanada sized; Double tortilla too btw, IYKYK) with the meat also being filled to the center line of the tacos. The remaining space is then filled with the toppings you chose (onions and cilantro for me, which are always fresh and made that day). The sauce is made fresh each day and is always given to you in droves, with green being a bold and spicy flavor that is as addicting as a cold one during your friends BBQ, and the red being a mild, yet flavorful and sweet sauce that is almost like a warm candy. (Imo) Most importantly, the food is CONSISTENT. I have yet to go in and not enjoy my meal nor have a bad menu item.
I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS SPOT OVER ANY OTHER SPOT IN THE AREA. This spot compared to the Harlem and Higgins TBK at 4am Sunday morning after coming out of teasers is palpable to say the least. It's like trying to compare a McLaren to a Chevy Corvette. Sure, they look similar, but the taste, service, and quality...

Read moreFirst time going to this place. There's only 2 tables occupied when I arrived. The place is clean and doesn't have this sticky or oily floors. I noticed that after the other customers are gone the staffs cleaned the tables right away. The staff is friendly and patience in explaining their menu. A little bit price from the usual go-to Mexican restaurant but it's worth it. Took only few minutes and I already have what I ordered. A plate of Lengua (beef's tongue) Burrito with rice and beans and a large cup of Horchata. The meat is tender and the veggies on it are fresh. It was served hot. The Horchata is good too same thing with their rice and beans. I was surprised that their servings are big. Free freshly made chips too....
