If DEPLORABLE was a rating, I would have selected it. I am extremely disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with the comments that were made to me and my daughter during my visit to Haverty's a few days ago. I came in to the store looking for a new sofa. A very helpful salesperson assisted us. During conversation, we advised her that I wanted to replace a Haverty's leather sofa that I bought a few years ago that is now discolored and peeling in the headrest. When she looked up my sofa in the computer and saw that I had been a very loyal customer, spending quite a bit of money at Haverty's, she called on one of her associates to see if there was anything they could do to repair the damaged sofa. Again, this was not the reason we came to the store, but I very much appreciated the effort. However, the person that came over to "help" was rude, condescending, and ignorant and certainly made myself and my daughter feel that her comments were because we are Black. Firstly, she told us that the headrest is probably damaged because of the products in our hair. I was very much taken aback. Does every person not have products in their hair? Gel? Hairspray? Leave in conditioner? Mousse? When I questioned her on it she indicated she didn't know what products we may be using. Secondly, she also told us that how we clean could also contribute to the damage. As someone who maintains an immaculate home on a daily basis that was highly offensive. At no point did she offer any valuable information regarding why in such a few short years, the headrest on our Haverty's leather couch was peeling. When we told her we had other leather couches that are almost 14 years old and still in tact, she indicated that perhaps the Haverty's sofa was less expensive and so that should have told me that it wasn't going to be as great quality. Since she was not being helpful, seemed to blame us for the reason the sofa was damaged, and made comments that we experienced as racist, my daughter looked at me and said "I'm done. Let's go." We left very upset and no one made any attempts to smooth things over before we walked out of the store. As previously noted, we did not come to Haverty's looking for any assistance with the current sofa as we had already decided to replace it. However, the treatment we received made me 100% certain I would never ever spend my money at Haverty's. I have referred over several friends and family members that have moved to the area. But moving forward, I will ensure that no one I know spends their money...

With that being said, it should come as no surprise that when this family of 5 needed to replace all of the furniture in the house due to smoke damage from a kitchen fire, we headed to Haverty’s in Jensen Beach.
Jordan was the sales associate that helped us. I can’t say enough good things about our experience with her. First, she was extremely patient with us. She must have showed us everything we were looking for several times as we just couldn’t make up our minds. She went over several options, had Carol design a layout for us on the computer so we could have an idea and play with furniture placement. She also met with my interior decorator who has been helping me since we remodeled the house (before the fire). Once we decided what we wanted and ordered it, she emailed me updates on the delivery of the furniture and called me as well. We changed the color of the couches we bought so it took a little more time but nothing crazy. Jordan has excellent style and is great at decorating/designing as well. She is friendly, easy to talk to and respects your budget.
We did pop into some of the other local furniture stores just to be sure (I said we are indecisive right?) and went running back to Jordan at Haverty’s to confirm our selections. The quality at other stores just does not compare to Haverty’s! You know what I am talking about! Try opening a drawer at the other stores and the tracks just suck! The drawers get stuck and you wonder if that’s what the floor model is like, where the best of the best should be to influence your buy, what’s it going to be like when it gets to your place?

She is not a person that hovers over you as you enter the store. She introduced herself and offered to help on our terms. After looking about for what we would be interested in, Jordan was able to answer the most important and even the ridiculous of questions. She is professional and caring about us and our possible purchase. She really knew every answer we needed. She knew about financing available to us and helped with unfreezing my credit to secure the store's wonderful offer. From delivery times to also process returned items if needed. We were able to split our order into 2 deliveries without paying 2 delivery fees. Imagine one delivery fee for all our items no matter how many trips they have to make: Delivery X2, also any need for returns if made within 3 days of any delivered item if not needing anything from the order or if it just doesn't work in our home. This company is Great! Jordan is Great! We will do future business with Haverty!

And knowing that our favorite sales woman was there and is there. We're talking about Jordan. I'm also going to put in a plug for Peter, the manager of the store. Jordan was busy with customers and he helped us after she pointed us in the right direction.
