This is my second and last time at this restaurant. The first time we came here, got seated, ordered drinks. When our drinks came, we asked the waiter why the menu was so limited and he advised me that it was because the chef was out of town. And by limited, I mean real limited. Only a few options. We ordered dinner and the food was probably about a 6/10. Not bad but nothing to write a good review for. We didn’t order the paella for two, but said we were going to try that next time. We asked when the chef would be back so we could order from the full menu and he said oct 18.
We decided to come back tonight, October 21 to have dinner. We ordered the paella for two, which was now not on the menu, but only the paella for 4. The waitress said she could place the order for 2, it wasn’t on the menu but the chef would make it for 2. Few minutes later she came back and told us the chef would not make it for 2, that he didn’t have it portioned out that way. We ended up ordering the ribeye, mediterranean chicken wings and kibbeh. Couldn’t get the kibbeh, they haven’t served that for a while. Chose the empanadas instead.
Review on the food is as follows. Ribeye, absolutely no flavor. Empanadas, these were very greasy, had a ton of grease dripping out of them, and the bottom of the pastry was soaked in grease. The Mediterranean chicken wings, these were possibly the worst chicken wings I’ve ever had in my life. They absolutely had no flavor, they were undercooked, and the skin was not crispy at all, very soggy. Also had a ton of excess grease sitting at the bottom of the bowl.
Needless to say, both experiences were very unpleasant and inexcusable in my opinion for a restaurant of this “caliber“. Also, something interesting to note, both times we went were on Saturday night, and we were one of two parties seated at the restaurant both times.
Better step it up or I don’t see this restaurant...
Read moreI am honestly not the type of person to write negative reviews about a restaurant because i have worked in the restaurant industry for 6 YEARS now.... however, this Mother's Day experience was definitely a shock.
The server was kind, however, he seemed to know absolutely nothing about the menu. simple basic questions that were being asked, he replied with "i don't know". As someone in this industry, that is the FIRST thing you NEVER say to a guest. you don't know? ok so ask someone who does know?.. Multiple times I had to to get up from the table because we didn't have silverware with food sitting right in front of us getting cold, we had no plates, the table was so small that i literally had to get up from the table to put old empty dishes onto a DIFFERENT table because the server was not pre-bussing the table whatsoever. and the server was nowhere to be found. (mind you, this is a very small restaurant).
When i asked for a to-go box, he just stared at me like I was crazy?? (he seemed to just stare at me and not say anything at all for 95% of the dining experience, it was very uncomfortable) I'm not sure what is going on in this establishment but I still tipped 20% out of guilt for the server who clearly is either A. not qualified for this job or B. was poorly trained and nobody cares ?
I have NEVER experienced such an UNCOMFORTABLE and STRESSFUL dining experience at what was supposed to be a great Mother's Day... I was basically serving the table rather than the server. from pre-bussing the table myself , and having to stand up to box up my mother and i's food was just extremely uncomfortable and weird because the restaurant was not busy whatsoever... just seemed like nobody...
