It was my first time to Red Crab, we had my Son's surprise birthday party there, this is one of his favorite Seafood restaurants!
They do offer quite a variety of Seafood in which you can choose from platters of assorted items but in addition to that you can also add a 1/2 pound to a pound of other Seafood not offered the platters but be prepared to pay dearly. This is not a cheap restaurant by any means!
The reason for my 3 star review not a 5 was for two reasons.
One, the atmosphere in the dining room reminded me of dorm cafeterias to be honest. Long tables with small trash cans on them for your discarded shells I'm assuming but I found that not eye appealing, they should only be brought out when your meals are served.
As for the second reason. I, along with my Son's fiancƩe do "not" eat any Seafood and as non-Seafood lovers you'd think there would be a better selection for we land lubbers, the short answer is a resounding NO.
Out of thier entire menu the ONLY (non seafood) is as follows, (and are strictly appetizers)!
Hushpuppies Fried Cheese Sticks Onion Rings Chicken Wings Corn Nuggets
That's it! No dinners period, nothing! Not even the 3 pasta dishes they are also served with Seafood.
However, my daughter in law did order the pasta and asked the Seafood be withheld. I just got 2 appetizers for my entrƩe! That's not a celebratory dinner to say the least!
To the owners, PLEASE offer a couple Non-Seafood options! I'm sure we're not the only people wanting that!
I will also add the service was amazing! Our waitress was really great, we never waited on anything we asked for! And we greatly appreciated that all the staff came out to sing Happy Birthday, thank you!
PS ~ The Birthday cake was not from Red Crab, we brought that....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter and I showed up at 5pm Saturday night to eat here. To my surprise, this location wasnāt as crowded as I thought it was going to be. That was great for us as we were greeted and seated immediately with our choice of booths. We needed a booth because she is 3 and needs a booster seat. Our waiter, I believe his name was Kyle, was very attentive and helpful. Over the course our meal he came over many times to check up on us. We started with the calamari, which by the way, was in itself, pretty good. Now Iām half Italian and I donāt know what this trend is about serving Calamari with these other sauces here in Florida but I typically donāt eat Calamari with any other sauce but marinara sauce, so I guess thatās my fault for not asking first, but, their sauce with the calamari was good. For a main dish I had the special. Lobster tail, crab legs, shrimp, corn, and potatoes. I chose the blend of all the sauces which was a good choice in my book because I loved it. This juicy blend made my seafood taste even better. I love the fact that every table gets a paper covering, in my opinion every restaurant should do this until COVID is behind us. The decor and ambiance is great and works well. Thereās TVās, a nice bar and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall our experience was very positive and I will be returning in the future. Prices as you can see on the menu provided through their website are pretty much what you would expect from a seafood restaurant, no surprises there. So if your into good juicy seafood and you donāt mind getting your hands...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe family and I decided to try the new seafood š¦ place located in Jensen Beach, Florida. This night it was raining like the heavens opened and God himself was crying. The rain decided to test the structure of the building and low and behold the ceiling opened upā¼ļø There were silver buckets at the front door on the floor, usually they are used for disposal of crab clusters tonight they were catching water. We were greeted by the pretty smiling faces of the lady hostesses. The young lady was gracious enough to can you tell us to be careful for the buckets were overflowing from the rain that found its way through the roof. Our seating was near the kitchen, there the lady spread a wax like paper on the table and placed our menus for us to order.
Andy, our happy and bubbly server. He assisted with us choosing specials and top menu items. He was very nice and attentive also apologizing a lot for anything really. The guys was nice šš¾.
Our order started with corn fritters and two weekend specials which was one lobster tail;one crab cluster;half a pound of shrimp (so they say, it was really 7-9 pieces) and three whole red potatoes with one corn. We decided to purchase the additional potatoes which were three for $2.75 and two eggs š„ $2.75. Cajun was our seasoning and it was nowhere in our bags. The portion was very SMALL. Not too much flavor definitely no spice. I wouldnāt suggest that the food was bad itās just not on the level of crafty crabāsā¼ļø I wouldnāt recommend a...
