This is a review on the Thanksgiving heat n go meal. Cooked today for my Mom so early review. Start with pick up on Saturday was scheduled for 8:30 am and wasn't ready I had to wait. A couple tins were not labeled but the lady told me everything was there. I got ready to leave and I noticed they forgot my rolls. I walked back inside and got my rolls. Once I got home I unboxed everything and I had 1 extra stuffing and 1 less sweet potatoes. I was excited to try a piece of pumpkin pie. The filling was amazing but the crust was pure salt. Went back the same night (one hour round trip drive) to get my missing sweet potatoes and the manager gave me a free apple pie that I had to recook today because the top was dough and you get that aftertaste in your mouth. OK the meal. The turkey and rolls was the best. Green beans where so full of bacon fat and pepper we didn't even eat them, I made my own can gb. Mashed potatoes were good but very heavy with the pepper. The gravy what gravy you gotta love onions and pepper if you order this meal. The stuffing was so dry and again filled with onions. The sweet potatoes everyone put them in there mouth and no one could swallow them. The sweet potatoes were so sour that taste as if they put orange jucie in them. Never again. 200.00 for food that was so heavy with onions. I would order the turkey again but never the sides. Most will go in the garbage. The pecan pie was the best.
Update: they said it makes them sad... they offered us a dinner for two on them. Nice guester, but I wasn't looking for a hand out. Maybe a replacement of the sides and don't add orange jucie to the sweet potatoes, or bacon fat n pepper on the green beans, and cook the apple pie so the top isn't raw. 200.00 on a meal is a lot of money and it was disappointing we couldn't eat most of the food. The turkey and rolls were amazing but they were not made there and sent from a factory. I would order the turkey n rolls next year but will be making...
Read moreCracker Barrel has long been a cherished destination for authentic Southern comfort food, and it continues to hold a special place in my heart, especially now that I can share the experience with my kids. Walking through the doors feels like stepping back in time, where the charm of a country store meets the warmth of home-cooked meals.
One of the highlights for my family is the blend of experiences Cracker Barrel offers. My kids love browsing through the gift shop, marveling at the old-fashioned candies, unique trinkets, and seasonal décor. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a nostalgic outing where even waiting for our table becomes part of the fun. And of course, the iconic rocking chairs on the porch are irresistible; my children love sitting back and enjoying the moment, and it’s a joy to see them making memories in the same place I did growing up.
Though the menu has seen some updates over the years, I’m happy that our favorite dishes—like the hearty chicken and dumplings or the golden-fried chicken—are still there. The food consistently delivers that homemade flavor you’d expect from a Southern kitchen. And the service? Always friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which makes the entire experience that much better.
Cracker Barrel isn’t just a restaurant for us; it’s a place where tradition, family, and good food come together. Whether you’re in it for the food, the shopping, or simply the ambiance, it’s a Southern gem that never...
Read moreHaven’t been to Cracker Barrel in quite a while. Had dinner there with my daughter last night at the Jensen Beach location. The hostess looked at us like we had two heads when we asked for breakfast venues, as well as the dinner menu. The restaurant was not very busy and she seated us, but then we continued to wait for a server to show up. When he finally did come to bring something to a table next to us, he apologized for not knowing we were there. Apparently, the hostess never let him know he had a table. We placed our food order (menu has completely changed and it doesn’t seem like they have nearly as many offerings and the prices have skyrocketed). Another server brought our food to our table and asked if they could get us anything else we asked for some more water to drink. A few minutes later, we saw our server, go to another table and take two waters. He finally came over to our table a few minutes after that and asked if there was anything he could get us - he didn’t seem to know we had asked for water so he either was not told or delivered them to the wrong table. I had the meatloaf which was crusty and dry and the carrots were rubbery - these are Cracker Barrel staples and I’ve ordered them often in the past. Overall, it was a very lackluster experience. The best part was shopping in the store afterward. I think it will be a long time before I try to eat at Cracker...
