Extra Space Storage — Local services in Jersey City

The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The storage units are very clean. However......the first day I started moving my stuff in, there was a homeless lady sitting near the entrance of the parking area and she had her legs practically in the middle of the driveway as I was trying to get in. The second day I came to bring more items to my unit and as I was rolling my cart in the entrance to go to the elevator the floor was wet. To me and my husbands surprise, there was an elderly homeless man standing in the elevator lobby with soaking wet pants. Yup, you guessed it! He peed on himself inside the elevator and walked all over the lobby getting urine everywhere. Not only was there pee in the lobby, there was pee in both elevators!!!! How?!?!? Anyway, the staff was quick to come a mop it, however there was now about four or five of us waiting to get on the elevators so we could go about our business. If this place wasn't so convenient for me, I would have...

The hours of operation are not ideal compared to the other storage competitors in the area… NO access to the facility before or after attendent hours… The day after Christmas they’re closed. When I verified in advance that the facility would be open as informed during the verification, “We’re only closed on Saturday and Sunday” and back to normal hours Monday… Well today is Monday and the facility is closed without notice or communication of the facility being closed not even on Google hours or website notification. I even waited 30min to see if someone would appear. Nothing!! This is completely unacceptable. This facility was supposed to be getting key pad access months ago… No key pad access still… The cost to rent a unit is excessive and level of accessibility to the units are unreasonable.

First, let me shoutout to Christina & Fernando. Fernando, was the one helping us out “ Mostly “ he was very friendly and professional with my boyfriend and I. I have spoke to Christina, as well on (briefly) the phone and in person, she was also very friendly, welcoming and professional. We couldn’t ask for a better employee.

Fernando, took his time and didn’t want rush us at all. He made us feel at home.

Keep it up! Employee like Christina & Fernando keep customers coming’s and keep old customers as well.

The place was amazing, clean and organized. If it wasn’t I wouldn’t stay lol. If you think about a storage place, don’t hesitate to go to that location, you will love it.
