Great prices on most things. That's about their only saving grace.
The store carries very little name brand stuff, it's mostly off brand stuff which is how they have such low prices. I shopped there today for the first time and bought several of their off brand food items to try them out, so we shall see.
Great produce prices also, and generally their produce looks very good. However, I did not like their off brand bananas.
The only eggs they had today were size large and were $1.99 for a dozen.
Beware, though, if it's your first time shopping there, know that you have to bring your own bags or else you will be stuck buying their plastic bags and those cost 15 cents each. And the bags don't hold that much. And you have to pay for these bags while you're checking out. If you have a big order, how do you know how many bags you're gonna need? Again, another nuisance, but I 'm sure this is part of how they keep their prices low.
#firstworldproblems for sure.
Also, you can't just grab a cart and go inside. All their carts are locked together and you have to insert a quarter into the lock in order to get the cart unlocked. When your shopping trip is over, if you lock the cart back up, you get your quarter back. I'm sure they do this so people don't steal their carts but I wish there was a better way. It's a big nuisance to have to deal with the quarter. Call me a whiner but I just don't carry a lot of change on me most of the time and there have been times I have gone there to shop and had to turn around and go somewhere else because I didn't have a quarter on me.
Another thing I noticed is that their items are not real well organized. I noticed they had stocked boxes of scalloped potatoes on two different aisles, for example.
I will report back later once I have had time to try some of the off brand items I...
Read moreI gave this grocery store 3 stars and that was being generous. First off I work at a local grocery store and know how things should be done. The good the store was clean (didn't visit restroom can't be positive nor negative about them). They was pretty good on stocked shelves, even though everything is all jumbled together. Food items mixed with misc items on the same shelves. They aren't friendly at all. there was several stockers on the floor and none even tried to speak to a costumer, just continued as no one was around, some even walked in front of you to place items as though you were not standing there. I understand things must be put away and there is a time limit. as stated above I work in a grocery store. I also know they have to take breaks and close, but you don't put your sign up when you see a customer heading your way. but that is exactly what a cashier did, pretended my mother, sister and I wasn't at her belt. that was fine I thought to myself she has to have a break. (but when I go to sign off a register and see someone coming I don't put my closed sign up, I take them and place the sign behind their items.) I moved to another line and once up at the register the cashier didn't say anything to greet any of us, she took my items out of my box and tossed them in to a shopping cart near her, she then tells me to slide my card. she didn't thank me or ask me to return.my mother was behind me in line, the cashier looks at me and says "you together?", I said yes ma'am. so she decided to toss my mothers items on top of my items in the shopping cart. their customer service is awful that was my first and last time...
Read moreEDIT March 2019: I had to take my rating from 4 to 0 stars, this place has gotten filthy, management is VERY rude, recently there was vomit in the floor that my Wife didn't see and walked through and my kids almost did as well. No sig was up, 5 mins later mess was still there and no sign to warn anyone and this was right in front of the front door, inside store. Store manager was rude and refused to even apologize or admit wrong for leaving the slip and bio hazard in the floor. Shame the people aldis hires, speaks volumes of the brand and how it treats people.
Org review: If you are feeding a larger family I don't know how you do with without stopping by Aldis. The company is tough to work for from what I understand so don't expect alot out of the people that work there, they are under alot of stress, but typically the cashiers will smile and greet you but anything else is rare. I wish they had not remodeled the store and just pass on down the price to the rest of us, we would rather have had it the old way without having to pay for the face lift and wind up with a smaller parking lot as well. Beef isn't very good, chicken is worse, the pork is alright (fresh meats). I really want to give less stars over the remodeling and parking lot but I don't want to discourage people from check out...
