Visiting LBJ house and library Walking through the house where LBJ grew up in and seeing the surrounding countryside left me with a greater understanding of his aspiration to help lift others out of poverty.

A very worthy experience to visually see just what molds a man. You need to read or hear very little as you explore the ancestral grounds of his childhood as well as the LBJ Ranch in nearby Stonewall and draw your own conclusions. As a teenager during the Vietnam era with a family member stationed there, I went in with an unfavorable opinion of him and left with at least a full understanding. A big family, living in a small house, no electricity, no running water, an outhouse quite some distance from the house. Yes this is where this thoughtful and persuasive President came from!
