Harvest House is a family owned business that is worth the drive, no matter where you live. Even when I lived in Houston, I would drop my deer off there and then drive 4 hours to go pick them up when they were finished.
All of their products are excellent, and their summer sausage is hands down the best I have ever had. Make sure you try the "Jalapeño/Cranberry" summer sausage, it is amazing! They have after hours drop-off for your wild game, and what you drop off is what they give back. They do not mix and match customer's animals, like other processors tend to.

I told the guy at the counter, the gentlemen who seemed to be in charge told the guy unloading the cow we wanted to keep it. It didn’t come home with us when I picked up our order, I called they said they had it, so I came up from San Antonio to get it and low and behold it wasn’t there. They said it was skinned after questioning if I told them about it when I dropped her off. Apparently they quote hanging weight before processing and you will get 50-60% of what they quote as the per pound price in finished meat.
