I don't have enough good things to say about this new location of Pig Pen BBQ. The original in Dripping Springs is a family favorite of ours, and the food is DELICIOUS. This location really brings together the fact that BBQ is a family affair. There is a huge playscape area for the kiddos to play, a bar to keep the adults indulged, and plenty of delicious vittles to satisfy anyone's tastes. We ordered the Brisket (burnt ends and moist pieces), Cheddar Jalapeno Sausage, Piggy Tails (which we ate most of prior to my photo, sorry), Baked Potato Salad, and Barbacoa Taco. The brisket was absolutely the pieces we ordered, some delicious and toasty burnt ends and delightfully moist and flavorful cuts... the rub is ever so slightly sweet and filled with flavor. The piggy tails are a must have... delightfully spiced and candied bacon (can you blame us for eating most of them before taking a picture?). The Cheddar Jalapeno Sausage has a delectable bite from the casing and it's not overly spicy.. it has the flavor of Jalapeno which is great! The Baked potato salad is one of our absolute favorite sides... it reminds me of what grandma would cook for a homestyle BBQ... the kind of food that sticks to your bones. It's just so good, definitely try it! I also enjoyed a frozen Jack Daniels... and on this hot day, I can't even describe to you how delightful that was! The classic Jack Daniels and coke flavor in a slushy and who doesn't like a slushy?! Seriously, you need to go. Take your whole family. Take your friends! Go get a taste of some...
Read moreDisappointed. I was excited to try this place because I watched it being built. I stopped by today for the first time. Walked in and went to the register and asked if I needed to order first, then find a seat. Or do I wait to be seated. An older lady at the register snapped at me and talked to me like i was stupid and with an attitude. Another young lady at the register, (im guessing she seen my facial expression) answered my question with good customer service/kindness. If it weren't for her, I would have just walked out. She handed me a menu and told me to take my time. I stepped back and went back in the line to order. A man standing behind me. The older lady that snapped at me ignored me and told him that she'd take his order. No problem. Once he was done, I walked up to her register and she turns her back and walks away, pretending to be busy. At this point im thinking that I should just leave. But I wont not try a place over ONE bad attitude employee. The other young lady freed up and she took my order with no issues. Would I go back? Honestly not sure. Even though it was just the one person with a bad attitude towards me, it still leaves a lasting impact. She needs more training for sure, or maybe needs to find a different place of employment outside of customer service if she can't treat EVERYONE the same, and treat everyone with respect/good...
