Just had the WORST experience tonight and will be taking my business elsewhere/calling corporate.
I've been a regular of this location on and off for years with my Mom. Always an online ordering gal. Gotta get those points, right? I placed my order a little after 6:30 to be ready asap. It can depend on obvious conditions on when it would be ready each time I order. I was given a pick up time of 6:55 but according to my receipt it was supposedly not received until 6:52? That's confusing considering the majority of the times I go to pick up, my order is already ready and I can see it on the shelf.
I came to pick up my order. I always wait patiently, and had spotted my usual 2 plate order bagged up and ready with my name on it. Of course there was a doordasher who thought he was more important and got in front of me. Fine. Then next think you know, my order is gone! I tell the cashier this, and doesnt even bother to apologize, confirm/ease my suspicion, or even verbally confirm with me that the order would and or could be remade. She asked me for my name for like the 3rd time and I may have sounded exasperated. I was starting to get mad, however I wasnt trying to express rudeness. I do my best not to take my exhaustion out on people but hey, it happens right? And I'm sorry in that can be perceived as hurtful. (I also just want to note that we have had issues spread out over time similar to other experiences mentioned here, however we had forgone those.) I am never one to publicly express my experiences unless something egregious such as this warrants it.
Continuing on, she essentially told me to not be that way and then I told her then maybe don't give my food to the wrong person. I was not trying to cause trouble! I'm not 100% sure if she heard me but I didnt say anything else after that. Not one single apology from anyone.
My mom, seeing how upset I was when I got home, went back and made a complaint. They wanted to claim my food wasnt even ready. THE MANAGER told my mother that good, never to come back.

Read moreI went to Panda Express a day or two ago and arrived at 8:30 PM to pick up some carry-out dinner on the way home. The employees had already put a good half of the food away and were clearly rushing to get out of there. For future reference, I politely asked them 3 times what time they close. The first time went unanswered the second and third time I was simply told "soon". After noticing half of their normally full food container slots emptied and cleaned and seeing more were being displaced by the minute I asked them what had already been put away. As they continued to empty the food case they responded with "I don't know." Since I was pressed for time I ordered from what was left as quickly as I could before it disappeared completely. The staff was not rude in word or tone but they were quite disinterested in customer service. It was evident that I, and a couple other customers, were clearly not welcome there and were but obstacles standing between them and getting out of there as fast as they possibly could. Needless to say, this was a rather unpleasant experience for a guy who was trying to give them money. So, a word to the wise, if you are going to the Panda Express on Jefferson Street in Joliet, get there at least an hour before their closing time, whenever that may be, and understand that half of the food may already be gone and that your desire to eat is secondary to the employees'...

Ordered a couple meals and then asked for 4 water cups ( had my spouse and 2 kids with me) I was told I could only have 3 cups, per policy. I said I needed 4, and was told I needed to pay 99 cents for another cup. What kind of stupid policy is that?
On top of that, they stopped handing out the fortune cookies. Apparently their basket at the register ran out. I didn't notice as first when I received my food, but halfway through my meal, my kids asked if they were going to get "those things with the paper in them". I went backed up to the same person who wouldn't give me my 4th water cup free and asked it the fortune cookies still came with the meal. She said yes, and so I mentioned we didn't get any and my kids would like them. She showed me the empty basket and then said she would go check in the back. I sat back down and figured i would check at the end of my meal. While it was busy, even when she had a break between customers, she chose to chat with coworkers rather than check in the back. After we finished our meal, I went and asked again and someone else finally checked and gave my kids their fortune cookies. But that means because she was too lazy to go and check,she was cheating all those other customers out of their fortune cookies also
