My rating is because of the staff at this particular location. The first time I went to pick up an instacart order I was treated so rudely by an employee from the meat department that the vice president of customer affairs personally called me apologized and sent me a $100 gift card after I filed my complaint and submitted my video between myself, this department employee and the assistant manager. My last interaction with harps was a week ago when I went to pick up a cake from the bakery. As I was walking into the bakery area there was a wet floor sign but there was also a gigantic puddle that I didn't see until I was right up on it and I slipped and fell bruising my knee and dropping all of my belongings. A customer help me up asking me if I was okay. I walked over to the bakery area where the bakery employee says to me, I saw that, I am so sorry. Since I was in the bakery department I said to him, who just leaves a puddle of water in the middle of the floor?! I said you guys put a sign out saying there's a wet floor but didn't bother to clean up the puddle?! The bakery employee says to me, well I didn't do it. I said perhaps not but it's in your department could neither one of you go out there and mop up the puddle of water that's in the floor?! And so a customer that saw me fall had called the manager over. This bakery employee says well there's the manager go tell him. And I said, oh so you're just going to waive me off to the management okay cool -not your problem, I get it. This store has a definite deficit when it comes to customer service. After filing an incident report I made sure to let the manager know that the proper response from this bakery employee would have been to come out to the bakery floor with a handful of towels to immediately mop up the spill and apologize. Read moreI went into Harp’s to get 2 dozen frosted sugar cookies for my class party. I decided to grab a breakfast burrito also. I asked for TACO sauce as well. The worker chose to hand my burrito to put my burrito by the gas station cashier, which isn’t where I planned to checkout but since I was being forced, I did. 2 other customers were serviced behind me & she handed them their items. The cashier didn’t know the burrito was mine so she didn’t ring it up with my transaction. When I noticed I had already paid so I let the lady behind me go ahead because I was curious to know why only my item wasn’t handed to me. The cashier stated that she didn’t even know it was mine. So that let me know that wasn’t what was supposed to happen. When I got to the car & looked in the burrito bag, she had placed 2 taco sauce packets & 2 HOT SAUCE packets that I never requested. I was offended by the entire situation so I called to speak with the supervisor. I expressed my concerns about the offensive behavior and she stated that they do that to her too & because they have people of color who work there she knows that worker isn’t prejudice. What she did was prejudice/racist whatever you want to call it whether it was intentional or not was not my concern. But it was completely blown off & my suggestion for diversity training was turned down as well. I really wanted to take back everything I purchased based on this experience. Read moreUPDATE: lost a star because the past two cakes I have ordered from them have been less than satisfactory. The most recent one, for a one year old, was made with regular icing- DESPITE ordering almost a month in advance, drawing the cake out and labeling whipped icing colors and specifying WHIPPED icing. The “birthday” in happy birthday is almost unreadable and the frosting on the backside of the cake is sloppy. The cake prior to this one was a complete embarrassment. Completely unreadable. Cake broken. And icing on cake exact opposite of what I ordered. Lol. So, I’ll be going elsewhere in the future. Maybe other people will have better experiences with pre-ordered cakes. ....
Best bakery in town. I would highly recommend their bakery over any other bakery in a 50 mile radius. Excellent wedding cake. Exceptional strawberry wedding cake- uses real strawberries. Various flavors available for birthday cakes.
Deli is fantastic! I prefer using their deli over other delis for catering events. Individual pricing on deli sandwiches aren’t very competitive, so I wouldn’t recommend having a sandwich made at Harps unless you are in a crunch. Their deli per pound is also slightly higher than other grocery stores, but the quality is much better. Recommend the deli for platter catering and for deli meat by pound.
