Let me begin by saying that I am not a hard person to please and I have never before given a negative review for anyone I have ever done business with. I have used Posey Peddler on many occasions with great satisfaction , but I purchased $873.00 of heartbreak and disappointment for my husband's funeral service last week. None of the three arrangements ordered bore any resemblance to what was asked for. One was to be 'spring flowers with little or no pink or purple'. It was primarily pink and purple. Another was to be nothing but a basket of white daisies and greenery. It was a basket of mixed flowers, including red roses, after it had been specified, repeatedly, that none of the arrangements were to include roses, carnations, mums or any other 'funeral flowers' . Both arrangements were attractive and acceptable...just not at all what was ordered. I asked that the casket spray be mostly white daisies and white hydrangeas, accented with fillers that I picked from their cooler myself to compliment the red St. Louis Cardinals cap that was to be the focal point of the arrangement, and for trailing ivy or other greenery to replace he ribbons on the spray I had chosen from their samples, 'to compliment the red sweater and the Amish barnwood casket he'll be buried in'. Heartbroken and horrified does not even begin to describe my feelings when I walked into the funeral home and saw that arrangement of mostly ORANGE roses (with a RED cap and sweater?) with very few of the white flowers and almost none of the fillers and greenery that I asked for. The casket spray can only be described as $350 worth of UGLY. I am not a hard person to please but it honestly looked like they had swept the floor at the end of a busy day and stuck the remants into a piece of floral foam in the size I had requested.
Posey Peddler's response to my complaint? "Well, we texted you some pictures (made beside the delivery van, approximately one hour before visitation and sent to my daughter's phone; so who''s checkling messages on their way to the funeral home??) and we didn't hear back from you, so....!"
If I can keep even one family from experiencing the heartache this transaction caused me, this long post will have been worthwhile. If I could have given fewer than one star,...
Read moreWhile they do make beautiful arrangements, I've been very dissatisfied with their customer service. I received a "Flower of the Month" club card with a floral delivery at the end of December. Nothing else - just the card. I assumed the flowers would be delivered monthly - after all, the card came with a delivery. Nothing came in January, so I figured the late December delivery counted for January, When I called after nothing arrived in February, I was told that I had to pick them up. When I picked up March flowers, I explained the situation but it was obvious they were completely unsympathetic (I had also had this conversation on the telephone) and were unwilling to make up even one of the two months I missed. I asked for a copy of the "rules and regulations" and was told they were numbered and I couldn't have one. They said the person who made the purchase (my bosses wife, probably over the telephone) should have received MY numbered information pamphlet. Well - that doesn't help me. . . . so I stop by today to pick up flowers for May and was told they aren't doing flowers of the month this week due to Mother's Day. Well, wasted trip. How was I supposed to know? Seems kinda crazy that an entire week before one of their "holidays" is blacked out - especially when they were completely unwilling to give me any paperwork that discussed rules and regulations so I had no way of knowing. I will not be using them in the future. I'll go...
Read moreTimes of death and sorrow are hard enough. When you feel like you have been taken advantage of by a florist, it's worse. I recently lost my 101 year old mother. My sister and I ordered a casket spray for her funeral from the Posey Peddler and paid $368 plus tax and delivery. From what we were shown, and specified, we expected a full, beautiful spray of purples, pinks, and wine colored flowers with hydrangeas. What we received in memory of my mother, was a puny spray that looked half dead. The spray appeared to have been "spray" painted with colors bleeding on the greenery. There was no purple or wine colored flowers. There were no hydrangeas. There was only pink flowers, not what we had requested. We had even gone as far as to show them a picture of my mother's dress to match the colors. They failed, and I would not...
