I loved this store and had shopped there for many years. I have nine grandchildren. Thatâs a lot of birthday cards and Christmas cards and gifts that I have bought over the years at this store. A few months ago, I went in to buy a birthday card for my stepfather. He is in his 80s and I wanted to get a Max Lucado Birthday card for him for his birthday. I walked over to the section of Max Lucado cards and there was another lady looking at them with a lady who works there. The lady who worked there asked me if I needed help finding a card. I told her I was looking for a birthday card for my stepfather. She told me there was another section with religious birthday cards on another aisle that I could go look at. I told her that I was there for a Max Lucado card. She seemed offended that I would not leave that section. I have no idea what I did that offended her. The next time I came into the store that same lady was running the cash register and had to check me out. She was very unfriendly. She did not smile at me. She did not say thank you to me. Her whole demeanor was different than I had ever seen her. After that, I was in the store a couple of times and she was very cool to me. Wouldnât even make eye contact with me if she had to check me out. So I decided to go back in specifically to find out what I had done to offend her and to apologize to her for whatever I had done. When I went into the store, she was not there. A lady in the back who worked there ask me if she could help me and I told her that I was looking for the lady. I described her to this lady and she knew who I was talking about. I told her that I was really just wanting to apologize to her because I had obviously offended her in some way. She laughed and said someone had probably put a card in the wrong place that day and she was upset about it. So I left and never really thought much more about it. The next time I went in, no one said a word when I walked through the door. Every other time Iâve ever been there somebody says welcome to Hallmark. I saw her there and she stayed at the back. When I got ready to check out, there was no one around the cash register. I went and found a lady who was putting out cards or straightening cards and asked her if someone could check me out. She called for someone to come to the register. An older lady with blonde hair came to the register. I said âI apologize. I did not see you.â She never said anything about that statement. She checked me out. I said thank you. She said nothing. She was not friendly in the least. I got the message loud and clear. I have not been back and thatâs been a few months ago. I have no idea what I did to offend that person. As I said, I went back to apologize and she wasnât there. But it was obvious to me that there had been some discussion about me because there were others who were following her lead. Itâs very disappointing to me to not feel comfortable to go into the Hallmark store to buy cards and gifts for my grandchildren or my husband. I believe that I deserve some kind of explanation of what she believes I did to offend her, but I donât guess thatâs gonna happen. If I can find out who owns this store, I intend to have a conversation with them...

I tried to return the gift less than 48 hours which was a purse however they had a small selection to choose from and I couldn't find what I liked so I went to the clerk and asked if I could get a refund and she insisted on trying to put back on the credit card on receipt. I explained that it's a gift if I could just get a gift card she told me she couldn't so I went and got a purse that was nothing I like and told her here exchange this she went to do it and then told me I need to get something else for $13.00 I ask could she put that on a gift card she said no it has to be exchanged for the full amount. At this point I was mad and told her to just put the old purse back in bag and I'll come back and speak to management. I haven't went back to exchange it yet I'm waiting to return it when Manager is there. very disappointed in how this was handled and once I return this purse I will never shop here again and I will spread the word about how I was treated.    Read moreThis was a really neat store. Lots of things to look at and purchase should you want to. However, to the employees should they see this, when you're trying to eye customers to see if they're stealing...try to make it look way less obvious! This store is located in a strip mall. My wife and I shopped at 3 or 4 other stores before going here. Of course we had a couple bags with our items we bought along the trip walking the strip. We took our time here because we'd never been in a Hallmark store before and it was truly really neat because there was so much to look at in there. But we had employees watching over us like a hawk. I understand it's Jonesboro and their are many thieves nowadays, but at least try to make yourselves not look so obvious! You won't ever catch somebody the way y'all were doing during our visit! We would have happily left our bags at the register area if we were asked. But I found it hilarious watching the employees look so ridiculous trying to "spy". Great store though, really awesome...
