Target — Local services in Jonesboro

Growing up in a small town of Greenville , Mississippi. It was boring with the same places to shop at. My mom and aunts would often take bi weekly trips to Memphis. They were living for the weekend in Memphis. Circa 1998; Memphis Millbranch location. Target was located by the Southland Mall and Chucky Cheese. My mother would go to Target to find some party decoration. She gave me an allowance of $50.00. The first movie I brought was Spike Lee " Crooklyn". It was a coming of age story and Target had my favorite movie. After we shopped; my mother would buy me popcorn and snacks. As a kid; Target was one of those ironic retail stores of the 1990s and early 2000s. Fast forward to 2012 when I moved to Jonesboro , Arkansas. When I learned to nagivate around Jonesboro; I was excited to find out they have a Target store . I went inside to see Target upgraded their store. The significant changes was the grocery store section. The store went from geek to chic making me feel like I am in a high end store with high end prices. The cashiers at the checkout told me to apply for a Target Red Card to be able to purchase more things. It was my first credit card. Overall Target has made my apartment to a home in Jonesboro. I brought groceries off my Red Card. Target or Tar Shayyy has been a brand I always stood by ever since a child. My mom comes shop here and likes it better than the Memphis location. Very displeased with target customer service. I received a gift card as a baby shower gift with and attached gift receipt telling the amount on the card. When I go to use the card in full it would only apply a little over half of the correct amount on the card. After literally talking to different people for DAYS and being on hold for hours on end they end up saying there’s nothing they can do about it and can NEVER tell me why my gift receipt says the card should have 70 dollars yet it really supposedly only had 52.50. I feel like in all reality they just made their pockets that much fuller and there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s frustrsting when companies don’t stand behind their own actions. So as for me and my family we will never purchase another target gift card because when I give a gift card as a gift I want to be 100% confident that the money I just paid really will be able to be used by the person I’m giving it to. Highly disappointed in targets decision to not honor what my gift receipt says is on the card. This complaint is not on the nearby target location in my town becuase they had nothing to do with it. This is a complaint of the customer service team and gift card trouble shooting team which I know have to follow company policies which is why I didn’t completely lose my cool with them. However, target you need to step it up and make right the mistakes you make. Thanks for ruining my day target.

I was wrongly accused of theft and fraud at this Target in Jonesboro. The young man over the security detained me and accused me of stealing and fraud saying I put items in my bag and didn’t pay for them and went to service department to get gift cards with receipts I had but didn’t return products previously purchased with those receipts! I was flabbergasted and treated like a criminal and he repeatedly refused to listen to anything I had to say! Lied and told me to sign an agreement to the accusations but I wd not be arrested.. A wonderful guy Jessie at customer service reviewed my receipts and collected all products I was accused of stealing. However Zac the obnoxious and very argumentative security guy never contacted him when I was explaining I did return items but I didn’t have the labels on them so I put labeled products in my bag so when I went to check out they wd have all appropriate info to refund from items according to my receipts! I was arrested and this was the most u just thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. I will be filing a law suit and was curious if any others have been falsely accused as well!
