I moved into a new home, which had 900+ square feet of carpet that needed to be ripped out and replaced due to pet urine. They ripped the carpet out to the floorboards, disposed of it and treated the floor with kilz. They let me know that it would need ventilation and the heat turned up to at least 65 degrees but didn't do it. Okay... maybe they didn't feel comfortable. We did that for them. They also didn't tell me that this would be a spread out/unscheduled process. They did not measure anything when they ripped out the carpet so they needed an entirely separate appointment, which could only be offered between already scheduled carpeting jobs IF they had time so I had to drop everything and leave work once the phone rang and the tech did not show at the appointed time, they eventually called hours later to tell me that he had decided to go to a doctor's appointment. I missed at least two or more hours of work waiting for him that I could have been working if they communicated better. They ripped out carpet from my living room stairs and did not measure any of the stairs for hardwood so it was never installed/was told after they did it that it needed parts that would have to be ordered anyway so now I have nothing but bare floorboard there. We had also let them know we wanted tile in my master bathroom, however they only had one single type of tile onhand (which we weren't told before they ripped out the carpet) so now I have exposed/treated floorboard. They did install my carpet eventually but they did not give us a specific time, so we weren't home when they were finally available. They did not vacuum after installing so I had carpet fiber everywhere, and they did not remove nail strips in areas where they left exposed floorboard so I had to buy tools after the fact to take those up. They also did not offer to put back up the doors they took down, or the stapled in shelves they took down. If you are the kind of person who likes appointments/deadlines/communication I probably would go with...
Read moreUpdated review, we went back to Arctic carpet and pulled the carpet completely, (it was great still!) And went to a laminate flooring through out the house. Went absolutely great. Charlie and Tim did the install in 3 days. I was there to help move stuff as needed and etc. They taught me what was needed on any maintenance and were fast, smooth and efficient on the install. Ours was over January 2022 during a serious cold snap. Got the materials delivered a week before and in the garage and warmed to home temp's to acclimate and etc. 3 days of hard work on their part, and amazing new floor. We've 1 labrador retriever and he hasn't scratched it. No stains. Great stuff. Very happy with Arctic. Again!
Original review below. We used them to re-carpet our home almost 3 years ago, and they were excellent. Helpful in what we wanted to get (Juneau time tables always skew things for delivery/installation) and helped us understand what/why's of the better pad or carpet as we went.
Very happy with the carpet and the installation was excellent as well. Our home had carpet in it from 1978 and I tore it out myself before they showed up to install so that saved both time and money on it.
We'll definitely be using them again for bathroom flooring and kitchen...
Read moreMy house was flooded and we called Arctic Carpet the next morning. Kimmy sent Charlie out that day and from there it couldn't have went smoother! Charlie and his helper tore out the wet carpet and hard wood flooring and trim right away. Then we picked out new flooring and they installed it fast, professional and with high quality. He even moved washer and dryer, toilet, removed closet doors and put it all back when they were done. Even delivered the parts I needed to upgrade the toilet supply line because I had no vehicle. I had called the other guy and he wouldn't even talk to me unless I went to his shop and pick out new flooring first. If you have flooring needs only one place in Juneau to call and that is Arctic Carpet,...
