I'm not sure this qualifies as a mall so much as a shopping center or something. The parking lot frequently has holes big enough to hide a smaller car in. In fact, I'm not 100% sure that I haven't just driven over the hood of another car that's fallen into one of their many giant potholes.
There's always people standing by the entrances smoking, sometimes drinking. Makes it a little uninviting. Half the stores are closed or a modern mystery as to how they remain open when I've never seen more than one or two people in them (including the employee).
Highlights inside include a single hall with bathrooms that look so sketch inside I'm surprised there's not a crystal meth entry fee, some pokestops if you play Pokemon Go, a few big chain stores (Office Depot, Sportsman's Warehouse, Joann's), a really friendly bookstore, a friendly insurance agent, and a little Mexican restaurant with decent food and some really nice people behind the counter.
Overall, this place is about as questionable as AA meetings in a brewery. They dozed the small pet shop that was there before to build a new restaurant, which apparently fell through since the construction stopped after they razed it. They've started patching holes lately, but who knows how long that will last. It seems cyclical and last time went ignored for months. There's always abandoned cars in the lot too. If they'd just add something like a Sonic drive in, update the interior of the mall, and keep up with maintenance like any business is expected to, it...
Read moreMy disabled daughter went to get her ears pierced at one of the shops. She arrived a little early for her appointment, so she started to take a quick walk down the mall, accompanied by her service dog. A mall “manager” walked up and harshly ordered her to pick up her dog; he claimed he was an emotional support dog. She said, “No, he is a seizure alert service dog” and showed him his medical alert vest. He still insisted she needed to carry him. Apparently, someone needs some education; under the ADA, a disabled individual’s right to public access with a trained service dog is federally protected by the Department of Justice. Over the last 12 years, my daughter has had three highly trained services dogs and has never been discriminated against in our local community. As a side note, “emotional support animals” are prescribed by doctors so they are allowed to live in a pet free rental but are not necessarily trained and do not have public access rights. I will be filing a...
Read moreThe electronics used to be my favorite place to go at Fred Meyers but now they're probably next to nothing, shopping for groceries is probably about the best place to shop here in town, as far as the customer service department they take forever and there's always a long line, the clothing department doesn't really have much and they're always out of large shirts t-shirts and underwear, some of the clothes that they order they sell for full price and have flaws, I believe they buy these flawed clothes at a cheap price and sell them there, one time I bought a large shirt I threw it in the wash and it came back as a small extra small so just beware about the clothes that you buy there, and forget about the underwear because they're underwear department doesn't really have much at all...
