To start within the last year or so whenever I would call it would be hard to get through to a person. There was one time I called to inquire on 3 supplements I was taking on weather they were ok to be taking with my prescriptions, as recommended by my doctor. It was clear the pharmacist seemed annoyed I was asking. She told me she would call me back, I never did recieve a call back. I ended up getting answers from a Walmart pharmacist instantly without the callback. I still kept going to Sykes because Sykes pharmacy has always been a "local business" I've preferred to support.
However, every time I have gone in it seems the pharmacist would have no pep to their step just overall sort of an unhappy atmosphere. I've also had multiple issues with filling prescriptions in a timely manner, if you call in and do it through their automated system it's generally not done hours if not a day later leaving you waiting in line when you do go to pick it up.
I've looked past those things and kept using them. However, after today I have swapped pharmacies, along with my grandma, uncle and 3 friends that were using them, I'm sure word will travel with them as well and I will no longer be recommending them to anyone.
Its new years eve I am out of a prescription, I knew I needed to get in to pick it up. I arrived at Sykes at 2pm and saw they closed early for the holiday they had a sign posted on the door closed at 1pm, Google wasn't updated just had hours may differ but still showed 6pm for closing. I noticed there were 2 people in the pharmacy behind the counter, I really needed my prescription because I am completely out so I thought maybe they might still be able to help me out. I could explain my deductible has been met this year I won't need to pay, it would be hopefully an easy process in and out what's the harm in asking them. So I tapped on the glass and they both looked at me, made eye contact looked away and just ignored me as I stood there for a minute. They were literally within 5 feet from me and totally disregarded me.
I get it, it's new years eve you want to get out of there but that was extremely rude and unprofessional, at least acknowledge me open the door and say your sorry you cant because the computers are shut down or something if that's the case.
Come to find out Sykes Pharmacy isn't even affiliated with Sykes, they were bought out by a cooperation and just rent the space so no wonder the service has declined so drastically over the last few years. It's no longer supporting a local business I suggest bringing your pharmacy needs elsewhere until they do some major work on their customer service, I dont know if they need to start by making their staff happier do some moral boosting or what. Either way needs...
Read moreI leave this review 3 stars because the customer service and care for sykes pharmacies patients hasn't completely taken a turn for the worse.
I came in today(Thursday 4/24/2025 around 330-4pm and a pharmacist by the name of Curtis was at the front counter I was the only patient in the pharmacy at the time all of the staff were occupied in the back while Curtis was at the front counter after a couple of minutes I had asked Curtis if he could help me pay for my prescriptions he responded "not right now Nick I am too busy" So another staff member overheard this and headed over right away stopping what she was in the middle of doing because Curtis said rudley he was too busy to help me. Seeing this quick response by the other staff member to quickly come up and address me I responded to Curtis smirkingly "thank you Curtis for your rude neglectful customer service today" and Curtis responded with an attitude "the feeling is mutual Nick" while the other staff member kindly helped me with a look on her face of disbelief of Curtis's attitude. This Pharmacist Curtis NEEDS TO BE TALKED TO BY HIS SUPERIOR OR BE FIRED. Curtis had no problem finding enough time to help the patient that came in less than 5 minutes after me with welcome arms In my opinion as far as operating a business. I have never experienced such horrible service from anyone else at Sykes...
Read moreIn September, I phoned my prescription in, as I've done for years and waited for the text notifying me, my prescription was ready for pickup. I never received a text. The following day, it took several trips to Sykes because of limited parking, to find my prescription was still not ready. No prescription the 3rd day by closing. Panicked because I was forced to stop my medication cold turkey, I left a voice mail. I got a callback, the following day, by a very distraught employee, apologizing (day four). She mentioned that the past owner (Toby sold it to his son, don't know his name ), was no longer with them and she was emotional. Not what I expected. On to this month. Called my prescription in and as of today, I've been waiting 4 days with no medication and they are closed today. No one should be forced to go without daily medication because the pharmacists can not fulfill the demands of our growing community. It's disrespectful and dangerous to customers to go without. It is not the old locally owned pharmacy but another corporation takeover. Monday, I'll take my business elsewhere. Sad they've run the Wise name and Sykes Pharmacy...
