If you own a 4wd Toyota, it’s really in your best interest to buddy up with the guys at ARD. I could easily post 5 different reviews with 5 different 5-star experiences but here’s the most relevant one; In 2019, Jake and the crew at ARD swapped a fresh 5.3L Vortec into my 86’ FJ60, and I can promise you, It was worth the wait and worth every penny. Within months of completion my wife and I embarked on a 100-day tour of the west coast in the new cruiser. A trip that big can’t go without complication, but Jake was always quick to respond. It’s not hard to find a shop that can turn a wrench, but finding a shop that will drop everything on a Friday night and drive for hours to help get you back on the road wins my business every time. A few Issues arose that were not ARD’s fault but nonetheless, Jake was quick to collect the cruiser, make adjustments to the system, and get us back up and running. Since we were one of the first swaps from the ARD garage we initially found it to be running a little hot. After raising my concerns I was thoroughly impressed that ARD took the cruiser back in and totally overhauled the cooling system. They even expedited the whole service to match my schedule. Now it runs nice and cool even at 60mph up high-mountain canyons. That experience really speaks to the integrity of their work and the unmatched level of customer service. About a year later I’m sitting with over 14,000 miles on the swap and it has certainly stood the test of time. Jake has been amazing to work with. If you want a professional swap at a reasonable price these are the guys...
Read moreFRAUD ALERT! We took our vehicle into A Rusted Development for a brake assessment because our brakes were squealing. Although my husband knew how to replace brakes, we were staying at our cabin for the summer and he didn't have tools to do this job. A Rusted Development called with the estimate approximately an hour after leaving the car. They reported we needed full brake pad and rotor replacements for both front and back which would cost $999.00. My husband said that was too much and went to pick up the car. He was charged their 30 minute labor cost for the assessment of $98.00. My husband borrowed tools from friends and purchased front and back pads and rotors for $387.05 at an Auto Zone in Salt Lake. When he removed the calipers and got a good view of the pads and rotors, he discovered neither pads nor rotors were in need of replacing! The squealing noise had been caused from the brake pad clips only in need of grease! He was able to return the newly purchased pads and rotors for a refund from Auto Zone. He requested his money back from A-Rusted Development for their invented estimate, which they readily gave him back. When he suggested to them that their mis-representation was fraudulent, the owner objected. APPARENTLY THE OWNER BELIVES FRAUD ONLY COUNTS IF THEY ARE CAUGHT AFTER GETTING AWAY WITH CHARGING HIM A THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR UNNEEDED WORK! Attached is a picture of the new and old brake pads...
Read moreI had complete failure of the wheel bearing on my Chevy Avalanche while coming down from my campsite near Kamas during a weekend of mountain biking. After a stressful drive down a steep rocky trail and a slow grind down Mirror Lake Highway, I pulled into the ARD lot with my front wheel cockeyed and barely hanging on, smoking hot nearly on fire, and the plastic center cap melting off. I was half expecting to be turned away or have to wait several days since the main focus seems to be awesome Land Cruisers, but they saved the day and were able to get the parts needed quickly to get my truck back up and rolling better than ever. My friends and I were able to get a nice bike ride in on some trails near the shop and by the time we were done with our ride Jake and his team were already finished. I was very grateful that they were able to get my repair done so quickly and I was able to make the 7 hour drive home to Montana on time. The head honcho, Jake Smith, and I share a name so that's pretty cool too and he is a...
