Alright, let’s get into this one, as it was more of an experience as well as a meal. When I first arrived I parked in the back and was greeted by a young employee watering the flowers in the back by the patio. I was excited as it seemed like a good old fashioned diner. I walked in and was greeted by two ladies, super friendly who told me I could choose wherever I wanted to sit, but it looked a little busy so I chose the bar. I thought that I was going to be next to people because there were some half eaten plates of food on the end of the bar. I sat down and ordered some coffee and looked over the menu. Wide variety and selection offered here. I chose the Philly Sandwich and looked at the photography on the walls. Shortly after my order the gal that was watering the flowers came behind the bar and grabbed some fries off of the plate at the end of the bar and smiled. No worries I guess, I don’t dictate where they eat. After we exchanged pleasantries minutes later, out walked a gentleman wearing an apron carrying some fried food. He came out behind the bar and sat at the last chair on the bar. He sat down and the waitress grabbed him a glass of water. They brought out my Philly shortly afterwards and it was filling and did the job. I appreciated the unique fries as well. I enjoyed but the sandwich as you may know, gets a little messy, had to ask for a napkin as they didn’t have any at the bar, and finished up. I got up and went to the counter and paid, and that was the most interaction from the wait staff I received. So if you want to eat somewhere where the staff eats, I recommend MLD, and grab a bar seat. Great opportunity to fix some misses here but...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience eating here. We made a reservation for 16 people a week in advance. Because it was such a large reservation, we called two days in advance to verify it. The restaurant lost the reservation, so we rebooked the reservation. When we arrived, there were two female hostesses that were so rude to us, it was terrible. They both acted so put out that we were there. What is the purpose of making a reservation if the restaurant is not going to prepare for you. Mirror Lake Diner should have put a plan together for us or not accepted the reservation. After being taken to our table be an extremely rude hostess, we did not have anyone come to our table for 27 minutes. A table next to us with eight people, arrived after us, got drinks, had the order taken, and received their food before we even got waters. It was ridiculous. After 27 minutes we got waters. After being there 40 minutes, someone came and took our order. After being there an hour and ten minutes, I asked when our food would come out, they said "in at least a half a hour, because we have to cook everyone else's first." They entire visit to Mirror Lake Diner was terrible for us. We finally received our food after being there for an hour and thirty five minutes. Suggestions for the owner - 1) teach your hostesses some manners and 2) if you are going to accept a large group and charge them to be there,...
Read moreThis was a pretty solid experience for being basically the only brunch shop in town on a Sunday. Breakfast is incredibly filling, service is friendly.
Mirror Lake Diner used to be the Yolk many moons ago. I remember the food being alright when it was a different restaurant but I hadn't been into the new spot until recently.
This is Kamas, and the dining options are limited. If you don't want a burger and fries on Sunday, you're probably heading to Mirror Lake Diner. That being said, you're probably making a good choice as well.
I ordered the Greek omelet with egg whites. I subbed out the sides and got sliced tomatoes instead. I also ordered a side of bacon because bacon and because protein.
The omelet was a pretty good size and was stuffed with spinach, tomatoes, feta and olives. It was not too large but enough to leave me full. With some salt, the tomatoes were on point.
And the bacon? It was just the right amount of crispy but also meaty, but not too meaty and undercooked that it just flops on your plate.
The servers here are really personable and friendly. It seems like pretty much everybody knows everyone else here which is a pleasant atmosphere.
Prices can be a little steep but are typical of a standard brunch place. The omelet was $11.
Would totally come back...
