I recently moved to Samak, and was checking out the three local coffee options besides the gas station. This was my first stop. The coffee (brewed coffee, nothing fancy) was quite good. The service was ok - staffed by a couple young people who probably are more into donuts than coffee. The atmosphere was generally good (if modern for my tastes and the small town setting) but I HATE the sterile look of the computerized menus on giant screens. Not at all the vibe I’m looking for in a non-chain place.

Unfortunately since I tried this place, the other coffee shop on Main St went out of business so I didn’t get to try it. Next up is the Samak Smokehouse. If this is the best coffee in town and I am desperate, I may go back. Or just go to the gas station which has the truckstop-style coffee makers which grind and brew your cup from whole beans.

I started coming here last fall when I found it while working in the area. It was great. I would make a point to try and get there if I was in the area as I liked their coffee. I even introduced friends to it, I liked it so much. Going here after a day of skiing with my kids became a tradition but the last 3 visits have been garbage. Rude, standoffish employees, lack of any effort and the last time? Feb 16th 2025? They told us they were out of regular coffee and only had decaf. Wtf. Why should I keep driving all the way out to try and support a local business if they are going to keep making it...

I don't recommend this place. The service has become awful. Waiting in the drive thru line to pick up a mobile order can take half an hour, which is unacceptable. They also have a habit of putting way too much flavoring in drinks, making them a sickly sweet syrupy mess. After a long wait in a line, it's also lukewarm. They need a better way to manage orders, and they need to motivate their staff better, because as of now, being a customer here is not a good experience. It's a shame because when the drinks are made properly, they are very good and worth...
