Absolutely horrible. After paying $25 to enter the event, I come to find that I needed to purchase tokens for to obtain beer. I then bought $20-$25 in tokens as we planned on staying the rest of the evening. After waiting in lines to buy beer that weren't moving, we were told that beer was not being sold anymore. After going to the token counter and explaining that nobody explained that in the case of rain, beer would not be available. The best response I received was "just use your tokens next year" or "I understand where you are coming from". Yet, no refund was offered, no staff offered any way to make the situation better, and I found the responses from Boulevard to be very rude. Needless to say, after feeling disrespected and scammed out of nearly $50, we left. Do not recommend...
Read moreIf you love paying $20 for the privilege of waiting 20ish minutes in long lines under a hot sun to pay $6 for a beer, has Duvel - I mean, Boulevard - got a deal for you! Otherwise, pass, and go enjoy yourself somewhere else in town - the sloppy drunks and havoc are all here for...

The festival itself has a good vibe and really shows what Kansas City can do. This location fits perfectly in this part of the “West Bottoms”. There are numerous places to get alcohol and food throughout. However, be ready to wait in line for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, they sold out of Bou Lou the Friday night before and we were not able to try it there. They did have some Boulevard beer cocktails that were very tasty. The live music sounded fantastic and the weather was great. Overall, Boulevardia is something you must experience...
