Went in there to look for a suit for my brothers wedding. Was looking around and no one helped me. Not sure because of race or they assumed I didn’t have money. After a while Kelly came to help me. I originally was going to give it a 5 star because Kelly saved the day. This posting has nothing to do with her, probably one of your best employees. We got my suit measured, and it was accidentally measured wrong, when I tried it on Monday. We spoke about the wedding being sat aug 27, and that the suit was going to be ready by Wednesday and if not Friday. I told them I prefer Wednesday since I’m able to pick it up. Friday would be harder. Wednesday comes and nothing so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Friday arrives and it’s almost 5pm, they answer and leave me on hold on 20 min. So I hang up and called them again, and they are still looking for my suit. That they would call me back, at this point it’s a day before the wedding I’m stuck at work and had more errands. Around 5:45 I get a call that they were able to find it that they just forgot to call me. Kelly was off that day. Luckily my friend was able to pick it up 2 min before closing time. A simple I’m sorry for the inconvenience that we caused would of been a nice gesture. It’s supposed to be a high end clothing store but they lack communication and customer service. The outfit is still wrong but I had no choice than to just wear it. Paid almost $600 for outfit and alterations. I have shopped here before and don’t think I will again with the horrible...
Read moreI love Halls. I think the clothes and designer brands are excellent. The best in Kansas City. However, the past two times I’ve been in Halls, I was profiled. Not because of my race, as I am white. But because of how I looked. On two different occasions two different African American women determined on their own that I did not have the money to spend in this store. The first time, I was in men’s shirts. I was finished looking at merchandise and began to look for my keys in my purse. An African American woman asked if I needed help. I told her no thank you and continued to look for my keys. The woman stood there watching me dig for my keys. She continued to watch me until my keys were found. She then followed me all the way to the exit and I could see her still standing there watching as the door closed. The next time I was in Halls, I asked a different African American woman where the sunglasses were located. She immediately told me they were designer sunglasses and cost between $300 and $500 dollars and did I still want to see them. I didn’t ask price or designer. I simply asked where they were. Both of these women were rude and it’s very sad that a store like Halls, who pride themselves on quality customer service, would hire...
Read moreMy wife and I shopped at Halls recently while in town from Texas for a Chief’s game. She grew up going to Halls department store. I went to men’s department to look for a sweater, perhaps anything i needed for my wardrobe that might be on sale. I met Anthony Madison. He was fantastic and I give him a big shout out for helpfulness, knowledge, professionalism, and great customer service (something very hit and miss these days!). I left the store with two pair of men’s dress shoes, a sport coat, socks, AND the sweater I was looking for. Some of these items were on sale and some not. That’s not my point here. My review is to applaud Anthony and his manager (I forgot her name) for doing a few things very well that sadly are hard to find these days: be helpful and knowledgeable, willing and able to help the customer get what they want, go the extra mile to work with someone, give them good advice with good taste, and project true customer service! Kudos to them and also the alterations staff (Lan)! I was so glad I went to Halls. I see the other review here where someone did not experience what I did. My wife felt a little concern about women’s department but if your a man go to Men’s Department and look for Anthony and you will be...
