My girls had a good time by the time we got the skates on their feet (I'll explain) Almost every pair of roller skates was missing the hard tip of the shoe lace that advances the shoe lace through the hole. It took us forever to twirl the laces and get them to go through, and every pair we asked for was the same thing not to mention they seemed like they were as old as 1970. The lady behind the skating counter didn't even offer to help. She just said sorry they are all like that unfortunately. I mean, surely they can afford new shoe laces. Unless it's for a school event, we wont be coming here as a 1st choice to skate anytime soon. No offense sorry. Another thing is every skating place in town allows you to bring in outside water, this place no. They hand out a water cup like the size of a shot glass not to mention the girls bathroom hand washing station gives you a shower while you wash your hands with zero soap. They sold me mozeralla sticks like 5 for 5 dollars with zero sauce. They just tell me after I take a bite, yeah sorry but we are out and sense they close soon they weren't gonna take the time to go through the boxes that just came off the truck cause it takes to long when there's no point to look for the sauce at that time. As a child we came here and I loved it. Never had issues like that. But then again these are adult issues and expectations, my girls had a great time. They had a life size Olaf in full atire which you don't anywhere. That was a cool photo op. Overall if we have to come again, as long as my girls are happy I'm happy. Just please work on and consider my feedback and maybe use as a tool for quality assurance & basic training. The staff were all very nice and the overall place was clean. Nice atmosphere. So not worth shutting down by any means. Just needs a little adjustment. But we had a great time....
Read moreDue to the heat we had to change my daughters birthday plans last minute. This was about the only place available to accommodate the amount of people/kids we had. The info on the page states with the large party jam you get ice cream but never saw it. My main issue is the lack of a/c on the building. They had tons of fans everywhere. We were sweating just sitting down. I didn’t receive a call that the temperature inside the building was going to be that hot. The manager on the phone stated the a/c was working fine even though the employees stated someone was there working on it.went back and forth about comping anything. They could comp half but we couldn’t stay the 90 minutes.then they would comp it all but I had to gather every single kid with our party take them to the front to pay for admission and rentals. Some already paid for admissions. It was too much. Thankfully the kids had fun of course. Even though we all basically left with damp and drenched shirts from sweating. Other people skating apart from our party made comments about the heat. I had guests leave due to health conditions it was to hot inside the building. I told them I was upset the lack of communication nobody called and the lady at the front said sorry it just kept getting hotter. The ice in the pitchers for the sodas was pretty much already melted. I was really looking forward to this as I had parties growing up here but was really dissapointed and will most likely not ever come back especially since I...
Read moreWell I decided to celebrate my 41st birthday by making my first appearance at Winnwood in nearly 23 years. Things didn't quite go as planned for me though since I ended up suffering a major fall before the session started that ended up severely ripping my shorts in a really bad area therefore leaving me unable to skate. I was still able to have a pretty good time though even though I basically I ended up spending $9 just to sit on a bench for an hour and a half listening to hip hop and r&b music. Lol But luckily one of the floor guards was able to help me get my shoes as well as help me get out through the back door so that I wouldn't have to embarrass myself anymore than I already was. I also want to give major props because even though a lot has obviously changed in the nearly 23 years since the last time I was there, the very lively and positive atmosphere there has not, which is one of the biggest reasons why I missed going to Winnwood majorly since i was a regular there back in the early 90s. So I will most definitely be going back again soon, but unfortunately for right now, I just have A LOT of work to do to get myself back into a decent skate shape before I do so. Maybe I should take advantage of the skate lessons coming...
