When I first walk into the shop and ask to check out a glock 19 the counter attendant hands me the pistol with the barrel pointed directly at my chest. Red flag but I move past it because of the prices I was quoted for cleaning some surface rust off of a few rifles I had in storage was decent. I left three long guns and their carrying cases in their possession for two hours. When I come to pick them up the attendant doesn't even allow me to inspect the firearms, just grabs the bags and carries them to my trunk. Keep in mind I haven't even paid for the services yet. When I get home and pull one of the carrying cases out of the trunk, one of the zippers just fall right to the floor. Obviously it broke in his care and he attempted to act like nothing happened. I returned to the shop and the attendant denied it was broke in his possession. If he had just been a man and told me we easily could have worked something out. Stuff happens...but I refuse to deal with sneaky, unprofessional, unscrupulous businesses. I will be spending my money somewhere else.
Update: in response to the owners reply to "my husband's" review. This is my profile because my husband's phone doesn't offer the option to review this establishment for some reason, so he asked if he could use my phone to create a review because he felt his experience there warranted one. As far as the bags that carry his guns, they are actually in very good condition. His guns needed cleaning because we moved up here from Washington. It was raining when we moved, so the inside of the safe had gotten a lot of moisture build up, so rust built up on them and he wanted them to be storage ready. The bag in question was a $75.00 soft case that was completely intact when we went to the shop. He received it back damaged, again things happened, but the damage was incurred under the shops care so it would have been nice if had the person accepted some accountability. Also, I feel that it is highly unbecoming and unprofessional for a business person to publicly defame a customer. This is not the first time this person has been rude in response to a not so good review and it likely won't...
Read moreMade a purchase on gunbroker and called to have it shipped to slidebite, the guy that answered asked what I ordered and how much I got it for. I told him a mossberg 930 for $600. He said they had them for cheaper. I cancelled my order with gunbroker and went in the following day to buy from them. Their "cheaper" gun was $120 more, and the guy said he didn't know what i was talking about when I told him I cancelled my order to buy from them.
Pretty slimy business practice for a relatively new, small town business. They have lost my business for good. I reordered my gun on gunbroker and I'm shipping it to a different FFL.
I posted this same review on their facebook page and had a conversation in the comments where he has since deleted and edited various comments and blocked me from replying to try and save face. Why would a business edit and delete comments unless they were in the wrong and have something to hide? Save your money and buy your guns elsewhere, you'll likely save a pretty...
Read moreRyan and crew are exceptional. This is a new store, but he has already put in so much effort to meet the needs of the area. His prices are amazing, the customer service is the among the best I have ever experienced anywhere, and the overall atmosphere is top-notch. I could not be happier with a gun store.
Even with the difficult times right now, and how hard it is to get anything firearm related, Slide Bite is going out of their way to get great product in the hands of their customers with a selection that seems to grow daily.
I am looking forward to what the future brings, and looking forward to many awkward conversations with my wife when she sends me out to get dinner, and I instead return...
