DO NOT HAVE YOUR BABY AT WEST KENDALL BAPTIST HOSPITAL. I have tried calling patient experience to speak to someone directly but their office does not call back or answer calls. On April 6th at 11:48pm my water broke. I was 38 weeks pregnant. I called my doctors office which is West Kendall OBGYN and they advised me to go to west Kendall hospital. I was admitted to the hospital on April 7th at 12:30am. At first everything was calm I was not dilating. April 7th at around 4:40pm I got an epidural since my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and I was in extreme pain and discomfort. Due to getting the shot, I stopped feeling the contractions therefore my contractions stopped. Nurses would come every hour to change positions to start dilating. I was in labor for 36 hours. No food for 36 hours. I tested positive for GBS so during my 36 hours of labor I was getting penicillin every 4 hours. Due to my water break on Saturday night and testing positive on GBS I should have only been in labor for no longer than 18 hours to limit the risk of infection for me and my son. On Monday at 6am, My body and my mind couldnât take the discomfort anymore and I asked for a c section. The nurse told me that the hospital is steering away from a c section because insurance does not pay the hospital as much. I received the feeling that nurses did not want to tell the doctors that I was requesting a c section because at 8am the nurse was still talking to me about natural birth after I requested a c section. I asked my family member to go outside and speak to someone different and ask to see a doctor. A different doctor was on call and my family memebers was able to speak to them outside and complain to them about me being in labor for 36 hours, still not dilating and the nurses are still pushing for me to have a natural birth. One the doctor came inside the room she explain that I shouldnât have been in labor this long because of the GBS positive and my water breaking. She had to give me medication for risk of infection to me and my son and she had to give me another medication in the case I bleed out. The whole time while the doctor was talking to me, in my head I couldnât help but think, âwhy would the hospital let this happen knowing the risks.â Also when I was 4 months pregnant and I was attending myself at west Kendall OBGYN I was prescribed Nextstellis which is a birth control pill. I was smart enough to google the pill before I took it and I called the office to let them know and they were all scared of their malpractice. Stay away from this place since the team does not pay attention to the little details and because they care more about how much an insurance pays them versus keeping you and...

The only nurse I've encountered who has always been polite, even when I'm in pain, is you. However, I do tend to get a bit irritable because you're not at your optimal state.
It is her compassionate nature that helps you recognize their presence in looking after you, and that the hardships we face are not their responsibility. I even got discharged and I had Her in my mind how good she took care of I even got discharged and I had her in mind. Because she took care of me. They replied by stating that, in addition to various other nurses, I also faced several more dreadful incidents at this medical facility. (I also have other patients to attend to.)
However, if you consider Armelle, you realize that she has other patients to attend to, yet she manages to find the time to quickly return to you whenever you need her, without fail. I understand that being a nurse is a challenging profession. However, I am of the opinion that those who choose to work in hospitals are aware of the difficulties they may face and possess the necessary expertise to handle them..Despite my occasional lack of kindness due to my own pain, she always remained understanding and never displayed any negativity towards me, aiming to assist in improving your well-being.Regardless of her busy schedule attending to other patients, she manages to make you feel like the most important person in the room when she is with you, even more so than any family member typically present, Receiving care from an unfamiliar healthcare provider can be challenging, especially when it involves a rectal procedure. She was consistently . it never discusses her to tell me as much time. Do you need help you call me eager to assist me in any possible manner and ensured that I felt at ease.. Some Nurses may advise me to contact the CP if there are any necessities I require. She was the person who said, "I'll be back soon. I'll retrieve it for you." However, I believe that once you encounter that special person who truly Takes care of you than you will always hold her in your heart, seeing her as your very own guardian angel. I have returned to the hospital and encountered her once more, and even in the midst of any level of pain, she brings me immense joy just by her presence. Just the fact that she is my nurse already gave me a sense of relief, knowing that she possesses a special gift in her profession. This is...
Read moreI am writing to formally express my concern regarding the quality of care I received in your Emergency Room on 12/11/24 My experience was deeply troubling, as I was in severe pain and did not receive the timely attention I urgently required.
I arrived by ambulance and was placed in a room alone, despite being in excruciating pain and audibly moaning every few seconds. For 30 minutes, no medical staff came to assess or attend to me. It was only after my daughter arrived and advocated assertively on my behalf that someone finally responded to my condition.
During this time, the ER appeared to be empty, yet a nurse in a nearby room was charting, seemingly ignoring my cries for help. My daughter had to take the extraordinary step of addressing this nurse directly to ensure that I received care.
Unfortunately, the situation escalated further when security was called on my daughter. She was accused of using inappropriate language and being aggressive, which was not the case. I believe a review of the security footage will confirm this. The nurse managerâs subsequent interactions with my daughter were dismissive and sarcastic, making her feel as though her valid concerns were not being heard. The security guard also made unnecessary and unprofessional comments, stating, âBy you still being here, it means it is not one-sided.â
This experience was not only unprofessional but unacceptable, particularly given that the ER was not busy at the time (approximately 9 a.m., outside of shift change). It is imperative that emergency medical staff respond promptly and appropriately to patients in critical need, even when they cannot advocate for themselves. My daughter should not have had to become my voice to ensure I received basic care.
I respectfully request a thorough review of this incident, including the behavior of the staff involved, the timeline of events, and the handling of my care. I also urge the hospital to take steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur again. Patients deserve to be treated with urgency, respect, and professionalism, particularly in moments of vulnerability and distress.
I look forward to your response and to understanding what measures will be taken to address this matter.
This occurred on 12/11/24 around 8:00am-9:30am.
I need names immediately of the nurse I originally had before the nurse got switched out, the ER manager, and security officer that spoke with...
