As a longtime Marriott Bonvoy member, I’ve come to trust and rely on the Marriott brand for quality, comfort, and service — especially during important family trips. Unfortunately, my recent stay at TownePlace Suites Miami Kendall West was deeply disappointing. We encountered a serious water leak from the ceiling in our bathroom, rendering it unusable. I was forced to use the poorly maintained public restroom in the lobby during peak breakfast hours, which lacked essentials like soap and toilet paper — a major hygiene concern. Despite reporting the issue early, the hotel manager was unavailable and never followed up. I was told he’d be in Monday, but as of nearly noon that day, I still had not heard from him. Communication and responsiveness were severely lacking. While one front desk staff member, Milena, did her best to help within her limits, the overall handling of the situation was unacceptable. Housekeeping also fell short — the linens appeared stained and worn, raising further concerns about cleanliness. This was not the standard I’ve come to expect from Marriott. I hope this review encourages better attention to guest care and facility maintenance.

We have been on a three week cross country road trip and each night we stayed in a Marriott or Hilton property. During the whole trip this hotel has the thinnest walls. The neighbors played a video game all evening and it sounded like a war was being fought in the next room. The hall sound proofing was not any better. People were coming and going until 3am. (See the pic of the air gaps on a completely latched door.) The breakfast was covid acceptable. Service was acceptable but not stellar. In the morning no luggage carts were available at 6:30 am. I assume they were on other floors and weren't retrieved during the night. I had to make multiple trips from the room to the car. This place only gets three stars.

Very nice and spacious rooms with kitchen, smart tv, sofa and a modern bathroom with good quality personal hygiene products. There are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants nearby. There is a pool, a small gym, a garden with a barbecue and plenty of seating outside. Overall great for a 2-star hotel. There were only 2 negatives; one was the breakfast, which was very limited and plain. It was my first time in the US so I don't know if that's standard. I was also shocked by the single-use plates and cutlery, but I found out that's the standard in the US. The second negative was there was no oven tray in the room even though there was an oven. The reception didn’t have this either.

My family stayed at this hotel in September for a week, over a weekend. It had just apparently been only open for a month or so beforehand.

Bottom line up front, this is a must stay hotel for your needs, business, family, or otherwise. It is a convenient location, with lots of new restaurants walking distance. Loads of shopping nearby, Target, Publix, Walgreens, ect.. Fair share of fast food nearby. Also just a few minutes from the turnpike.

The hotel was running on COVID-19 restrictions when we arrived, the Governor of Florida just enacted Phase 2 when we arrived. So we did not get to enjoy the full gamut of amenities the hotel would have offered otherwise, but this was out of their control, and they did a great job considering.

They were handing out breakfast in the morning, but it was pre-packaged items in a bag(COVID-19). Bagels, juices, fruit, ect.. Its a bummer we didn't get to experience the hot fresh breakfast, but we understand its out of their hands. The bar was also not open during our stay.

Check in was a breeze, the new employees were very professional, by the book, and took care of me with warm greetings and a professional attitude.

The room was brand new, we appeared to be the first ones to occupy the rooms. Brand new kitchen amenities, Fridge, Stove Top, Microwave, Dishwasher, and Sink. Loads of storage for clothing, food, groceries, or whatever else. Huge television! Good size dining table that seats 4. Floors were clean, walls were clean, tables and beds were clean. Bathroom was well designed, only thing somebody might take offense to is the "new style" half glass shower doors. This is something that most new hotels have, and I personally like it.

There was no housekeeping (COVID-19), we just were informed to leave trash outside the door. It was picked up every day consistently. If we needed anything, we just asked, and it was delivered. Rooms were quiet, it was surprisingly busy during our stay and I never heard other rooms.

Pool is outside, we did not get to utilize it much. Its on the smaller side, but its a pool, what more do you need? There are two full size grills outside also in a patio area ready for anybody to grill away at their hearts desire.

Parking is FREE!

Overall, this is an excellent hotel, that has a great future for it as long as they stay the course, and keep the customer first. Give it a try when you...

I stayed here for 9 nights while recovering from surgery. I specifically chose this hotel because it offered a full kitchen, which was really important to me during my recovery. Overall, the room was fine and the kitchen was functional, but I did run into a couple of issues that I feel should be brought to management’s attention.

One concern I had was with the cookware provided. There were only two pans, and both had damaged, chipped bottoms. I found this out while boiling milk for oatmeal — the pan started smoking and gave off a burning smell. I ended up cleaning it myself and set it aside, only to notice the other pan was damaged too. I brought one down to the front desk to show the issue. The man working that night (dark brown hair, often working the night shift) looked me in the eye and just said “OK.” He didn’t apologize or offer a replacement until I had to specifically ask for one, even after I explained that this could pose a fire hazard. It felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially considering the safety risk.

Thankfully, another staff member an older Spanish gentleman overheard and immediately stepped in with excellent customer service. He apologized and brought me a replacement pan right away. I truly appreciated his kindness and willingness to help.

Another issue was on the first night when I called the front desk because Netflix wasn’t working on the TV. The same front desk person told me to unplug the TV and plug it back in, and if that didn’t work, “some of the TVs are just outdated and not compatible with Netflix.” That felt like a very careless answer, especially since working TV access is part of the room experience and I had my 6-year-old daughter with me who was hoping to watch shows while I was recovering. Thankfully, my husband was able to fix it himself.

The hotel itself was okay, and I appreciate the convenience of the kitchen. But the attitude and lack of basic service from one staff member really stood out especially when you’re staying long-term and recovering from something as serious as surgery. A little empathy and professionalism can go a long way, and I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for...

I booked for 3 people and a dog. I’m giving 3 stars because the shower was the worst water going out and having to clean it just so there won’t be water everywhere because the design it with no door and the shower head doesn’t go lower so the water won’t come out. But a plus the water pressure was great. The bedding was stain with god knows what and they didn’t have clean bedding for the sofa bed it was dirty and they didn’t have the sofa bed made. Sofa bed was the worst to sleep in my back was killing me I slept on better sofa beds before. The king bed was great though. The refrigerator was working fine for like an hour and broken I had to make it colder for it start working again but that refrigerator made noise all night. Lastly I didn’t like that there wasn’t an area for my dog to use the bathroom. There wasn’t a lot of open space that he could roam around freely. I seen lot hotels have a fence area for owners to let there dog roam freely and use the bathroom they really should have one here. Plus the grass was very tall and my dog is a small dog and he had to be hopping around to find a spot to go. Trash cans were kinda far from the open areas that I had to use for my dog. Also some trash cans are buried in brushes so good luck. But the good things I can say staff was friendly and breakfast was good and the ladies that were helping with breakfast were very nice and help us out when we need to warm up some of our food. If I do come back I’m going to be asking for two queens instead of a sofa bed and a king. And I really hope they fix the shower problem because that’s just annoying having to mop the floor up every...
