This is the first time I've ever seen a waiter hound a guest for tip money so shamelessly. I've had no issues with the food, or the atmosphere, but the service from our waiter today was absolutely horrendous. There is a standard that workers in food service need to uphold, especially waiters when they handle customer relations.
Frank, our waiter today did not check any of those boxes. He received everyone's drinks orders and delivered the wrong drink to my partner, who asked for a water and received a coke instead. After that he came with a salad for the table instead of asking individually what sides my table wanted when taking everyone's entree orders, and still forgot to bring the water. I took it upon myself to ask for the water and only after receiving our entrees, did my partner finally receive their water. After receiving our food we did not hear from or see our waiter, Frank, to ensure that our food was good. He returned after we finished eating and we asked for the check. Upon receiving the check, we had noticed the coke was still on the reciept. We asked if to take it off and he seemed upset, he came back with an updated check which we paid with card. He returned to give us a tablet so we can ensure everything went smoothly, after paying it asked for tip. One of the members in our party lowered the bar so we could pay half in card, half in cash. Frank, however, saw the proposed tip amount and snatched the tablet out of the party members hands. He seemed very upset that we paid half in card and seemed offended at the amount, despite his poor service. My partner ensured Frank that we were planning to tip in cash, however he seemed either upset or embarrassed, and left the table without a proper goodbye and had slammed the tablet in frustration at a section where the servers place in their orders. The entire party was upset at his attitude and decided not to tip Frank for his mediocre service and his poor attitude, except for my partner who in total tipped almost 20 dollars. They hastly gave him the money in cash and told them not to have that attitude for it was nasty and rude. On our way out, he chased us down to reason his poor behavior to us, but we werent having it. We understand servers live off tip, my partner is a server themselves so they understand the anger in a low tip. However, it's disrespectful to judge a book by its cover, you should never expect a tip nor assume your party will not tip you solely because they prefer to tip you in cash, rather than card. We will not be coming back to this location, but if we do, we hope Frank has a change of attitude and no longer harasses his tables for tip. Tip is earned, never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went to Olive Garden on Friday night to celebrate multiple Happy occasion's occurring within my family. This rating is not due to the service or the food because they were both great Joe was our waiter and he was fantastic. Jenny also assisted us in providing water almost as soon as we sat down. Both of them are 5 Star. This rating is due to the fact that upon arriving there were people outside waiting to get a table within think much of it when we went into the hostess stand she told us it was gonna be a 30 minute wait ask for my name Am iPhone number we gave both. And then we were advised that we could not sit in the Lobby There are 2 lobbies 1 next to the hostess stand and one outside of the double doors, both are under air conditionin. We were told that we had to go wait outside in the heat. My wife became very upset about this and was already looking for other places to go. We went back to our car to be in the AC as it was very hot outside. We were just about to go to Amici's, which is very good also. Luckily we got called right away to go in, that they had had a family table for us near the bar. The same bar which when we were told that we couldn't wait in the lobby were also told that we could not go to the bar because there were already people there but, I saw open seats. It is late April 2021 and we are regressing regarding this Covid nonsense. To make people wait outside in the heat is ridiculous. What if it was raining? Olive Garden management, district management, hear me, this is wrong completely wrong. There will be another time that we go to Olive Garden because we all enjoy it however, if the same greeting happens we will probably never return and that would be unfortunate. My family loves Olive garden.
The below was a 5 star from 2 years ago.
Solid go to for a quick fix of carbs.
Another great family dinner last night. We love the Olive Garden. Their food is delicious, their service is on point and their wines that are offered are both delicious and affordable. This is our go to for Italian food in Kendall. We have come here several times since they opened and have never been disappointed. Last night was no exception, the experience was only enhanced as our waitress was Monica a delight. She made fantastic recommendations and was very attentive. We mentioned that it was was my daughter's Birthday so after she ordered her dessert it was presented along with a happy Birthday song from Monica and a few other waitresses. Additionally, Monica didn't charge us for the dessert. We had a had a great time to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was a nice experience. However, my shrimp pasta arrived lukewarm, our waiter never asked how the main course was, and didn't check for refills. I had refilled my own water with my grandma's water since I was thirsty, and he never came back. The man seemed nice, though, and we had a great experience regardless.
I've been to this location at least 5 times since covid, and the service is expected to be polite, but subpar, so I'm not disappointed.
The atmosphere is okay, but there are some rough spots for sure. They gotta do something to change the takeout area by the bathroom. They have the waiting bench and a random chair facing people eating directly behind them. And people are going through hoops trying to reach and exit the bathroom which was idiotically placed right behind the takeout counter. If I were seated in this area, I would simply ask to be moved or leave immediately and head over to Walk-Ons next door, which is fire by the way. I totally recommend it. š
For a romantic evening, your experience is directly correlated to where you're seated so pay attention!
Outside, the sun blockers also do a terrible job at keeping you out of the sun mid-day. So if you plan to go for lunch, I recommend avoiding the hours between 11am-3pm because at least 1 person, if not the whole party will be affected by the sun beaming across the table and the tops of your heads throughout your whole visit.
It would be intelligent for the establishment to buy new sun shades if they want more repeat visitors, but I understand it's a chain restaurant and changing the shades to something that blocks the sun at the top may be incompatible with management's abilities.
Regardless, this is a very standard Olive Garden, so if you're a fan,...
