Ace Hardware in Kent is exactly what a community hardware store should beâreliable, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Every time I visit, Iâm greeted by friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure I find what I need. Whether itâs a simple household item, a specialty tool, or advice on how to tackle a project, theyâre always ready with knowledge and a smile. It feels less like shopping at a store and more like getting guidance from a trusted neighbor.
The selection here is excellent for a smaller-town hardware store. They carry everything from nuts and bolts to paint supplies, garden tools, seasonal items, and even those hard-to-find little pieces you donât expect to see stocked locally. The layout is organized and easy to navigate, which makes quick trips simple, but also allows you to browse comfortably if youâre looking for inspiration or options.
What really sets this Ace apart is the service. The team doesnât just point you to an aisleâtheyâll often walk with you, explain differences between products, and share tips from real hands-on experience. That kind of personalized help saves time and frustration, and itâs something you wonât get at the big-box chains.
Prices are fair, the quality is dependable, and supporting a local business in Kent makes it even better. For homeowners, DIYers, or anyone tackling projects big or small, Ace Hardware in Kent is a true asset to...
Read moreIf I could give the Ace Hardware store in Kent, CT zero stars, I would. That store, has the most unhappy, frustrated and racist staff members ever, poorly trained by the business owner that justifies their employeesâ abusive manners due to the fact that they have âpersonal problemsâ. After all, they are a reflection of him. If you are not white, they will mistreat you and make a big deal out of nothing, even if you ask a simple question, they will raise their voice and embarrass you in front of everyone. If you happen go to the store 5â before closing, just to pay for something that you will pick up from outside (which takes 2 minutes) , they will smile at you and INVITE you in to pay for the goods, to later on complain about it. Ungrateful hypocrites. Me and my family have been loyal customers for a few years because we believe in supporting local businesses, but enough is enough. These people are verbally abusive and they have no clue about the meaning of polite and the meaning of diversity in a mainly white neighborhood. Not a good place to shop, if you want to be treated with respect, take your...
Read moreI've been coming to the Kent store as long as its been there. Every visit was a pleasure and the staff was always helpful and friendly. That is until today (4/11/25). I needed some paint matched and was met with one of the rudest people I've met in a long time. She immediatly started contradicting me and basically called me a liar. Mixing paint is a very simple task that even a rookie can do in 5-10 minutes. It took her 20 and came out accusing me of making her look up codes and whatever else she could make up, thinking she did me some favor. There was no code to look up since I tinted the original paint with some white just to lighten it. To that she told me it doesn't work that way. (?) I left there dumbfounded and still cant believe someone would act that way to a customer. I'll avoid that store until that person no...
