I've often heard people say negative things about Panda Express, and was always confused because I'd never had a bad experience. (My previous experiences were in the DFW metroplex.) I've been to the 28th Street location twice. On the 1st occasion I wanted noodles as my side, and 2 entrees. I was given 1 entree and the noodles. They counted the noodles as an entree and my side. There was absolutely no sauce whatsoever in my container. The noodles were SO dry that I almost didn't try then. In spite of them being dry, they were flavorful and edible. They would've been great if they'd actually had sauce on them!! I was taking back about a month later, and not only did we have to wait in the drive thru for 15 minutes, with only 1 car in front of us, but when we went to place our order we had to wait another 10 minutes for them to allow us to place it. (I'm guessing that they were severally understaffed.) Sadly, after waiting all of that time the food was beyond awful!! It was the WORST chinese food I've had my entire life!! My orange chicken didn't have any sauce on it, again, and it was full of small pieces which turned out to be only fried batter. My Kung Pao chicken was not only lacking sauce, it was the worst I've ever had!!! The chicken pieces were small and looked normal but when I put it in my mouth, it had the texture of chicken fat. Every. Single. Piece. On top of which there was only 1 piece of zucchini, and the dish was FULL of huge chunks of bell peppers, which I detest. My fried rice was literally white rice with several peas and carrots in it. It was very dry, too. We were not given extra sauce as requested. We were also not given any packets of any sauce whatsoever. I've come to the conclusion that in the past when I got Panda Express, I was given exceptional food and service. All of the complaints I'd heard about it from friends was because their experiences were like my 2 visits to the 28th Street location. Orange chicken and Kung Pao chicken are always at the top of my list whenever I'm asked what I'm in the mood to eat. Always!!! I'm truly saddened by both of my experiences!! So much so, that I don't foresee me EVER eating Panda Express again, in any state!!! For years it was my go to place for takeout, and I always had great experiences. Now that I've experienced what everyone has complained about, it's been knocked off of my...
Read moreI was so excited to have this drive thru location open on the SE side. I’ve been to this location twice already and have had issues both times. Both times I ordered online to pick up at specific times and used the drive thru both times to do so. Both times our food was not ready when we arrived at the designated time. The first time I only received half of my order. I tried to explain that I ordered two of the exact same thing and it showed this on the receipt but she kept arguing that I didn’t understand the receipt and I only ordered one. Once she finally realized her error she apologized quite a bit, gave me my second order and I was on my way. The second time I had a bigger order and it wasn’t ready at all. We had to pull forward and wait quite a while. When they did come out they forgot our drinks. When they came out with our three drinks they were in a plastic bag because they were out of drink carriers 🙄 The first order we got the Shanghai steak and the second time we got beef and broccoli. Both times the amount of meat was ridiculously small. It’s not like the mall where they pile your plate high. We MAYBE had a quarter cup of meat in each meal both times. Edited to add: the third trip was the nail in the coffin....I am done with this place. I placed an online order, picked it up in drive thru and when I got home realized it was wrong (gave me orange chicken instead of string bean chicken). Drive all the way back and they replaced just the chicken....not the sides. Literally handed me a tiny container of the right chicken....I’m done. This...
Read moreHonestly the best Panda Express I have ever had in my life from this restaurant. In the past couple of years no matter what Panda I go to it’s all vegetables and no noodles in the chow mien and anytime I get my favorite honey walnut shrimp it’s all walnuts. I was hesitant today ordering panda but I had a gift card and IM GLAD I DID! I went inside for a pickup order and had to wait a couple of minutes. The staff was really busy as it was peak dinner time, but every single person was working smoothly and hussling with everything they did. It was four employees and then two managers and it felt like no one spoke a word but they all communicated somehow. It was a well oiled machine. The floor was clean. The manager, Cargo, was finishing orders, refilling the items that ran out and cleaning tables in just the couple of minutes I was in there, but not once did he look frantic he knew exactly what he was doing. NOW THE FOOD! It was the best Panda Express I’ve ever had in my life the honey walnut shrimp was mostly shrimp not all nuts. The chow mien was noodles and not just vegetables. It was seasoned great and cooked to perfection. While in the store I told the manager how happy I was with seeing his people work so well together and now after eating I’m even more pleased and will be...
