Pita Way - Grand Rapids 28th St Mediterranean — Restaurant in Kentwood

I got the Halal Cart Bowl. At first it thought it would be a great deal considering it was my first time at pita way and I was overwhelmed by the menu. I also made it into a combo which the fries were absolutely good but when it came to the bowl, I understand that for being cheaper than the make your own bowl you can’t really add whatever toppings you want but I assume it would still be a great portion. I was highly disappointed with how the bowl came out. They gave me a cup of chicken which was absolutely nothing compared to the amount of yellow rice and lettuce I received. On top of that they skimped on the sauce on top, in particular the chipotle sauce. In the picture they only gave me two lines of chipotle sauce, are you serious? I paid 10$ for a bowl of rice and lettuce with a small side of chicken. I’m not sure if a manager was serving me and giving me small portions but all these other reviews including my friends who went with me got way more food. If you go to the pita way on 28th st, make sure you never order the gyro meat there. It was complete MUSH. Totally undercooked and we got told that if we wanted better/fresh portions, that we should come earlier so they arn’t rushed. Keep in mind we walked in 2 hours before their closing time. I would only call it a success if I wake up tomorrow morning without Food Poisoning. Never have I seen undercooked gyro meat like that, it was as white as the snow on the ground. I absolutely love this place. It’s a great concept. And the staff is amazing. I stopped in earlier this week and ordered food. My car ended up breaking down in front of their store. They had no problem with me leaving it over night. When I came back the next day I had to push my car on to the trailer. It took me probably an hour or so to load it. They offered me a drink if I needed it. I will definitely be coming back. I like that there is a new healthier option that is quick in the area.
