I just recently took my 10.5 inch IPad Pro to have the screen replaced this last week. I have to be honest...I was very hesitant about doing this and almost just bought a new iPad but I didn't feel like my current iPad was really slowing down. I mainly just wanted the screen replaced since I dropped it and cracked the screen really bad. I did some research and saw several reviews on here that gave me confidence to check out Gem City Digital. I took in my iPad for repair and was called back within a few hours to come pick up my device. I picked up my iPad, paid and then went on my way. All was good and then my screen/ipad kept shutting off and wasn't operating properly. I took my iPad back and was assured they would figure out what was going on. I started to get concerned that I made a mistake but to my surprise I was told they would switch out the screen to see if that was the issue in making my ipad shut on and off frequently. They replaced it with another screen, tested it and could not get it to go back to normal. They let me know that they would switch out my unit with a fully functioning replacement. I was very impressed with the ownership they took in their work and even when it didn't work out to get the ipad operating like it should they made everything right and made sure I was taken care of....I couldn't have asked for anything more. This place has their customer focus down right where it needs to be and does strive to do right by their customers. I have to say a big THANK YOU for not leaving me hanging as my iPad is used for work EVERY SINGLE DAY in my business. I would ABSOLUTELY say this is the place to go for all your repair needs for all your mobile devices! I'm a believer and have already referred a few people to them simply from my experience!! Read moreI don’t typically write negative reviews unless the experience was that below expectations. Had stopped in to see if my iPhone could be repaired due to the service constantly dropping for days at a time (after calling my service carrier and a trip to geek squad it was ultimately deemed an antenna issue more than likely). The phone screen had been taken to be repaired at this shop a few months ago by the previous owner (a close coworker) right before selling it to me. With how long this time frame was, the repair fell out of warranty (which is understandable). I didn’t expect to be able to utilize the warranty but, just wanted to see if there was anyway to fix the issue I had at hand. I was then told by two rather arrogant associates that the phone had never been repaired by the shop due to the “factory seal never being broken”(despite them already confirming the history of the repair). When asked again what could be done about the phone, the associate nonchalantly stated “well, I guess it’s a really nice iPod now”. Now, as we are receiving this info, one of the associates are on the phone with the coworker (who sold me the phone) stating that the phone indeed was repaired at the shop but (with being out of warranty) couldn’t be repaired again as a bend in the phone was the cause of the service issue and nothing could be done. Mind you, there were never any service issues with the phone before the screen being fixed and despite the bend. Overall, the experience felt pretty unsatisfactory and the associates come off as extremely...
Read moreI brought my Samsung phone to GCD in hopes of getting the charging port fixed. They were recommended by 2 other cell phone repair shops that merely didn't have the soldering tool needed for the repair. I must add that my cell phone had no other issues other than the charging port being broken. GCD had my phone for an hour and charged me 91$. Immediately after getting my phone back from them I noticed a problem. None of my apps were working. I couldn't make phone calls and when I was able to make calls the other person would either not be able to hear me or the call would just drop. The very next day I had someone else look at it. He said that when GCD opened it to repair it they damaged a wire in it that supports communication. I went back to GCD and waited an hour just for them to present the phone to me as if it were fixed and it most definitely was NOT. Which I had to demonstrate to them. I waited another 45 minutes just for them to come and tell me it was just my cellphone carrier or maybe an app I had installed. So they were basically guessing. I stated that the phone worked fine before and I would like it fixed or be given a refund. I waited another 45 minutes just for them to merely say here's your phone. They not only clearly did not know what they were doing but they had no remorse for damaging my phone and making me wait close to 3 hours for subsequently nothing. Though I did receive a refund there was no apology, concern or ownership for their part in my cellphone damage. I essentially had to buy...
