My husband and I have had the worst and most frustrating experience in dealing with this store.. the worst I have ever dealt with from a chain service-based store, and there were a lot of purchases made this year as we just bought our first house a few months ago. We purchased the p5 king mattress, 2 pillows, mattress pad, and pillow protector on 10/28/18. The salesman took down our info in the store. As we had just moved, my husband's DL still had our old address on it. We immediately saw this on the quote, and our new address was entered. There was some difficulty with switching the new address as the primary, but the salesman assured us multiple times that it would be resolved and there would be nothing to worry about. We were to still expect our mattress delivery on 11/15/18 and a courtesy call the day prior. We walked out of the store with a receipt that had our old address on it. Huge mistake!! I regret not having Dan, the store manager, assist with the issue or following up with him the next day to ensure it was resolved.
10/31/18: One of the pillows was shipped to us, and of course, was headed to our old address. So my husband called customer service to re-route the pillow to our current address. The pillow arrived on time without any issue.
11/15/18: the day that our mattress was to be delivered. Expecting to receive a call that day from the delivery drivers about our mattress, I prepared our bedroom to remove our old mattress and cleared space for the new one. It was about 1pm when I decided to call customer service to find out the time of delivery. I was told that there had been a change of address on 10/31. I advised that the address change should have taken place while we were still in the store. The CS rep was kind and apologetic but stated since there was an address change back on 10/31, our mattress delivery somehow was cancelled and never rescheduled. There was a lack of oversight on the part of the rep whom my husband spoke with on 10/31. I was told that she would speak with her supervisor about getting the earliest possible delivery date, as the next available would not be until 12/4/18, 5 weeks after our purchase. I attempted to reach Dan, the store manager, but he was not available on this day. I received a call back later that day from the same rep stating that the next available delivery date would be on 11/27/18. Later that evening, my husband received an email from sleep number with an even earlier delivery date for 11/19/18.
11/17/18 I reached out to Dan to express our frustration. There was a clear lack of professionalism and follow up on behalf of the salesman regarding our order and address issues. He also was very apologetic but assured us the mattress would be delivered on 11/19/18 sometime in the morning, which is what was stated in the email that my husband received. Again, we would received a courtesy call the day prior and a follow up call the day after from the salesman we originally worked with to make sure the mattress was functioning. He also offered to send a coupon in the mail.
11/19/18 My husband used his PTO to stay home in the morning so we could finally have our mattress delivered and end this frustrating ordeal. Can you guess what happened? That's right. No call, no delivery, my husband received an email stating the delivery was pushed back to 11/27. He went to the store to speak with Dan. I can't speak to this conversation, as I was not there, but my husband told me that Dan was going to pursue a reduction in the total cost. As of today, 11/20/18, my husband has not received a call from customer service regarding the reduction in costs.
On 11/27, our mattress was finally delivered.. a full month after our purchase. It was delivered without issue, and the drivers were polite. I strongly caution anyone from purchasing from this store. We never received any further follow up from this store from the last date of contact on 11/19. Sleep number has burned their...
Read moreHusband and I went to check out the Sleep Number beds as we were shopping around for a new bed. Fairly pleasant experience at first, salesman talked a good talk, tried pushing the sleep IQ feature we told him we had zero interest in using. Seemed rather surprised a young couple didn't have a desire to connect their phone to the bed. But we humored him. Working in healthcare I know that the bed wouldn't diagnose an arrhythmia by showing the Dr my heart rates at night for a month 😂 took everything I had not to laugh at that one. But I can see where he was going with his point I suppose. Came time to say we wanted to think about it and man his attitude changed. Very high pressure. I will NEVER buy something when I am high pressured out of principle. Also not buying the 2nd bed we laid on in our shopping endeavour. Maybe we just looked young and easy to pressure, who knows. Overall wasnt impressed with the comfort of the bed and prorated warranty for a bed that has working mechanical/electronic features. $$$. Maybe we're just old fashioned. The salesman as part of his high pressure tactic asked us what the point of thinking about it was (multiple times), because it's the best bed on the market. I asked around at work for thoughts on sleep numbers from patients and coworkers. Everyone I asked said they got rid of theirs or knew someone who had one but got rid of it after a few years. Glad we went with Sleep Outfitters. ZERO pressure sales and love our new bed.
Salesman also told me PTs, Drs, etc recommend sleep numbers...working in the PT field I know that we don't recommend types of beds as part of our practice. But I guess it sounds nice for a...
Read moreFriendly atmosphere. Greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Sales rep showed us the bed that we looked at online on sale. However she did not show us the right size. Plus she made us feel unsatisfied with the experience from the moment when she told us that what we were looking at was not what she said it was in the beginning. When we were trying to find out how much it would cost if it was not on sale she told us the sale price anyway. She also gave us the price of one size and told us that the difference would only be around$200 when in actuality it was $1000. Once we informed her of our intentions she then told my fiance that once she got tired of sleeping on the floor on an air mattress then we could come holler at her. Because the mattress was not the one we were looking at, we felt misled by the sales rep. She insisted there would not be a difference in what the bed would do other than the size. Once we informed her of our plans to get married, her attitude changed. She didn't seem to understand that we were trying to get an idea of what things will cost before buying anything. A bed is not the only thing we need...
