Unfortunately this is not the pet store to go to. We were in last week and bought a fish tank along with some fish. Sadly out of the 4 fish we bought 3 of them died within a week. After 4 days of having them, 2 of them started acting weird so we went back to the store. Half of the fish there were sick, including the tank we bought the fish from. We tried asking questions to see what we should do about our fish, but they were completely unhelpful and had no idea what they were talking about. We left with absolutely nothing accomplished. Within 12 hours both of those fish died, but our other 2 were still okay. When we went back to return the first 2 that died we noticed that all the fish from the tank we bought from were gone, they subtly confirmed they had all died. They thankfully refunded us and told us that basically all of their fish were sick, so again we asked what we should do for the remaining fish in our tank. Yet again, they couldn't provide any information, just told us to come back if our fish died. Sadly we lost the last of that kind of fish on the one week mark. Again we brought the fish back to the store, however this time they refused to give a refund. They said they could not give a refund because the tank was set up on the same day we added the fish. That being said, we took all the precautions and we know it was not our tank or the water that killed them (there is still another fish thriving in there) and you could visibly see the illness that killed our last fish on that fish. Furthermore, they did not tell us that day we bought everything, nor did they discourage us, just told us that if our fish died to bring them back. Last thing to note, they literally sold us sick fish (as they realized their fish were sick the day after we bought ours) and all of their fish died as well but still refused to refund.
That all being said we will not be going back to this store again and do not recommend it to anyone either. The staff may be friendly but this was a terrible experience that has ruined...
Read moreI read some mixed reviews on this place and having been to some really lousy Pet Supermarket’s in Orlando and Georgia. I was worried about coming here for stuff for my cat. I don’t know why people are angry at the staff there, but I met the new manager, a lady, who is not only extremely knowledgeable about cats, but also about reptiles and birds. She told me about what I need to be aware of if I wanted to buy a bearded dragon or snake, and it was enough to dissuade me.
She obviously came from outside of Pet Supermarket because her knowledge base is. quite extensive. When I asked her about a few items I wanted to get for my kitty she actually directed me to products I didn’t even think were the best quality, but took the time to also so me alternatives. I think her name was Tonya. What really surprised me was that she knew where the nearest 24 hour emergency vet is. Since my cat is special-needs, this is a critical piece of info. This is a manager who knows her stuff and her team seems to be supportive of her because I saw them working. The store is clean and even though they are still working on stockinf things up, the animals dish and birds seem healthy. She did mention she is not going to do cat adoptions until she can locate a rescue group she trusts.
Yes I met the other manager Everyone was talking about, a male, and he did not seem very kind to anyone but that’s the way it is I guess when you have a temporary manager. I only hope this new lady is here to stay because she really made a difference with me . Pet Supermarket looks like they’re serious about turning around the store, because they seem to have made one hell of an investment in...
Read moreIt’s unfortunate that this is the only pet store within like an hour distance. This pet store is over priced and they also run out of stock so easily. I religiously purchase worms from here to feed my lizards and they always run out of worms. So when they are out of worms I will buy crickets but then they will tell me they can’t sell them because they need them to feed their own animals. You would think they’d start ordering more because there is a clear need in the community. It is unbelievably stressful not knowing if there will be food available for me to feed my lizards. The manager does not care either. One time I asked if they could order more because it always runs out and he said that he gave the purchasing job to his new assistant and said “hopefully” he ordered the right amount. Well HOPEFULLY they open a pet smart or something else down here so I can stop blowing my money at this pet store.
I have to say though that the rest of the staff...
