Maybe will give more stars at a later date once the wrinkles are ironed out seeing they just opened. Honestly we just discovered this place. We tried the one in Johnson city first and gave them 5 stars! They were awesome. So good that we were and are very excited they decided to come to Kingsport. And you can tell they work very hard at getting your meal to you quick with top notch service. Making it a well oiled machine like Johnson citys restaurant. Both owned and operated by father and son. Ken the owner/father made sure to make his rounds and assure everyone was happy with thier meals. Great guy! Our waitress Tammy was fast, friendly, and efficient. I think in the process of getting them meals out quick they also need to make sure each dish is also of quality. This day ours was not. Our eggs were not cooked as we asked. The whites were even on the slight runny side(ick) the bacon was cold and hard. So much so we couldn't chew most of it. :( (definitely was sitting out for awhile) hashbrowns were a small little scoop and most of it was crumbles. We felt maybe they gave us the last of whatever was left in the pan as other dishes that were being brought out looked much better) and we love us some good hashbrowns. :) English muffins were good... tho the butter was so cold you couldn't spread it without ripping the bread. Orange juice is delish. I believe they use sunkist. My favorite. I'm sure these kinks will be resolved as time goes on. We are still very happy they are here and I have a feeling it will be our new favorite breakfast place. They serve lunch...
Read moreWe’ve been here twice. Once the first week that they opened and again today. First time it took 30 minutes to get our order - the two older managers did nothing but create chaos for their staff. I ordered oatmeal and it sat under the heating lights so long it was literally hard when it was brought to our table and the server never asked if she could fix the problem thou I obviously only had 3 bites. Also, serving milk with oatmeal is kind of common, but we had to ask for that and it took another 0 minutes for that to be brought to the table. Today we went again - the avocado toasts absolutely the most plain and thoughtlessly made meal - an unsliced avocado with salsa lumped on top, completely unappealing and unappetizing 🤢. Put the salsa on the side not lumped over the avocado - done correctly, avocado toast is amazing but this was just boring and sloppy - like the oatmeal they served me the first visit. And, really, $2.99 for their bitter tasting coffee is quite out of line with our other local (family owned) restaurants. I can sped the same amount of money and have a delicious and delightful meal instead of a plain and thoughtlessly put together meal. We gave you two tries and we’ll stick with Evelyn’s or The Mustard Seed where our meals are thoughtfully prepared and the service...
Read moreThis place has excellent reviews so I was very excited to try their breakfast. I got the crab cake eggs Benedict a biscuit and gravy and grits. The eggs Benedict was ok. The sausage gravy was Not! It was cheap packet gravy very watery tasting. I hated it. Nothing compare to the tragedy of their grits though. Grits are not hard to make. I tried and tried to fix those grits and there was no saving them. I make quick grits all the time. What you are doing very wrong is your ratio of water to grits. Increase your grits A LOT. They should never taste water or be soupy. A good grit should be thick. Just get a canister of quick grits and follow the recipe. If you want to make them even better do half water half milk. Always add butter and salt. Cook them until thick. If watery you’re not done. I found this place to be very expensive for the taste of the food. The star of the show was the farmers market tomato that we brought ourselves. I doubt I will be back. My server was excellent though. The ambiance is very sterile and cold. I think I have learned my lesson though and will just fix my...
