ETA: Got a response from Voitek saying I should call and ask for a manager or owner but they deleted their reply from Google reviews. Nonetheless, I noticed that all the replies from Voitek to customer posts are all 'call us to talk about it" as if they can't look up sales and reach out the customer. No customer should have to call over and over and ask for a manager or owner to actually get a decent product. I make a mistake trusting Voitek and I have learned my lesson. I'm not going to call again and beg them to fix this. They had 5 chances - that's how many times I called and asked for this situation to be rectified and that is 5 more than should have been required. I hope my post helps other people learn from my mistake!

Original review: I have been a loyal customer of Voitek in Kingston for nearly 30 years. It was my go-to place for everything and over the years I have purchased numerous appliances from them, including stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, washers and dryers. I figured it was best to support a local, independent store. . .I was SO WRONG. I purchased a dryer from Voitek 6 years ago and it died about 3 weeks ago (yes, it was just 6 years old). I called them and said I needed a new washer and wanted the same one that I had. I was told there was a newer model but it was "basically the same". The new washer got delivered and first of all, it is NOT EVEN CLOSE to the old washer. Many of the settings are different and it doesn't even fit in the space I have the washer in. I actually can't open my cabinet if the washer lid is open (see pic). But, ok, that's what I get for buying on the phone. HOWEVER, the washer didn't even work properly from the first day it was delivered. I called and asked for it to be replaced/exchanged. They absolutely would not take it back and it was literally in my house for 3 days. They sent someone out twice to fix and it still isn't right after 3 weeks. So, now, I have a very loud piece of junk washer that is too big for my space that can't be retuned or exchanged. How cool is that? I called a different repair person to come and take a look at it. Maybe they can fix it since I'm stuck with this piece of junk. This is definitely the last appliance I will buy from them. I was trying to help local folks with their business but it turns out that they don't actually care at all about local folks. My future appliances will come from big box stores. I checked and both of the big stores have a 30-day return policy on large appliances. I should have done my homework instead of just trusting the place that I've turned to for 30 years. What a sad change for this business. I hope this review helps someone else avoid a mistake that costs them...

You looking to get appliances this is your place. I got a nice selection of many different brands and types. If you have something specific in mind they're helpful sales staff will look outside of their inventory to see if they can supply you with the appliances you're interested in. Sales staff really knows what they're talking about they don't only read you the description that's on the little ticket but they know about the features where the items are sourced from so you know if you're supporting Imports or American made items. My circumstance it dealt around stand alone dishwashers or built in. The sales staff printing me out a multi-page document of all the tech specs and mentions needed so I knew exactly what size my cabinet would need to be. Then After figuring out if the built-in was going to be the direction I wanted to go then they helped choose the right brand and look and style of appliance. Then I gave them my list of specs that I wanted in the appliances they did their research and they came back to the few different options in a few different price ranges. After making a decision the sales team even assisted me in filling out the energy companies mail-in rebates due to the Energy Efficiency of the appliances. I didn't have my energy bill with me or they said they would have completed the whole entire process at the store before we even left the store for the rebate.

Once my product arrived at their location they called and we set up delivery times. With free delivery and free removal of the old products and factoring in the price we were offered I don't think there's really another choice if you're going to get appliances. We went to all the big box stores looking for appliances but the service was unmatched at voitek. Will definitely be going back if we need anything else that they can supply us and definitely recommending it...

My parents have been purchasing appliances and TVs from Voitek for the last 50 years. So, it was no surprise that after their last stove died after 20+ years they went directly back to Voitek to purchase their next one.

They liked Voitek because, as my father said, “they don’t sell junk”. They also appreciated the fact that Voitek was one of the few places that had much needed appliances after the Agnes flood in 1972. Voitek helped people rebuild while still maintaining good prices and great service. Their way of doing business made my parents life long customers.

It was important to replace their last stove in time for Christmas dinner. Voitek had exactly what they wanted and delivered it the next day. That was early December and it looked like our family was all set to celebrate the holiday together.

Unfortunately, my father passed away the week before Christmas. Our family was still in mourning, but we were intent on pushing forward with Christmas at Mom’s house. More specifically, my mom was happy that she would still be hosting.

You can imagine how horrible I felt when, the Friday before the Christmas at 3 pm, I accidentally broke the glass on the front of the stove. Disaster! Suddenly, Christmas dinner was at risk and I was on the verge of losing my spot as the favorite son.

Frantically, I called John Anuskevtiz at Voitek. John immediately understood the magnitude of the problem. He jumped into action and, amazingly, located a replacement door! John went above and beyond for our family.

Christmas was saved and my place as Mom’s favorite was restored. It was a Christmas miracle thanks to John’s efforts maintaining Voitek’s legacy of outstanding customer...
